Brandon Marshall News
New Orleans Saints tight end Dan Arnold and wide receiver Brandon Marshall are healthy scratches for Week 14 against the Buccaneers. Arnold had been used more of late over Benjamin Watson as the pass-catching tight end and scored his first touchdown of the year on Nov. 22 against the Falcons. Watson should have a bigger role in an excellent matchup against Tampa on Sunday, but he's still more of a TE2. Marshall has yet to play for the Saints after being signed about a month ago.
New Orleans Saints wide receiver Brandon Marshall was signed three weeks ago to provide a veteran presence in the passing game but has not played yet for the team. Marshall has been inactive for two straight weeks and has been seen on the sidelines wearing a headset during games. The veteran told reporters that he listening to the calls on offense and is running a "mock game in his head". Injuries to Ted Ginn, Cameron Meredith and then Dez Bryant have opened the door for Marshall to be on the team but hasn't cracked the lineup yet. Teammate Tre'Quan Smith was limited in practice on Monday and if he cannot go Marshall may get his shot. If he does, fantasy owners would be best to stay away until he produces on the field.
New Orleans Saints wide receiver Brandon Marshall was a surprise inactive for the second straight game as the Saints took care of the Falcons 31-17 on Thanksgiving. The veteran receiver was signed via free agency two weeks ago to supplement the Saints passing game but has not suited up for the team yet. It could simply be an issue of trying to get up to speed on offense but it certainly was a surprise to see the Saints activate unknown receivers Keith Kirkwood, Austin Carr and Tommylee Lewis instead. Fantasy owners that rushed to the waiver wire to pick up Marshall would be wise to cut bait and look elsewhere to catch lightning in a bottle this late in the season.
