Jermaine Kearse News
Detroit Lions wide receiver Jermaine Kearse suffered a broken leg plus an ankle injury in Thursday's preseason meeting with the New England Patriots. It was a gruesome looking injury and while Kearse could theoretically return from a broken leg this season, the fact that Kearse reportedly suffered multiple injuries on the play does put his ability to play this year in serious doubt, though we'll wait for confirmation to officially say he's done. Danny Amendola is likely going to be Detroit's main slot option now and has some intrigue in deeper leagues.
The Detroit Lions signed free-agent wide receiver Jermaine Kearse to an undisclosed deal on Thursday, according to a source. The 29-year-old will provide depth behind Marvin Jones, Kenny Golladay and Danny Amendola. Kearse had 37 receptions for 371 yards and a touchdown in 14 games in his final season with the Jets in 2018. Unless an injury occurs ahead of him, Kearse won't be attractive in most fantasy leagues.
New York Jets wide receivers Quincy Enunwa (ankle) and Jermaine Kearse (Achilles) have been ruled out for Week 17 against the Patriots. Neither Enunwa nor Kearse have been on anyone's fantasy radar for a while, so this won't have much impact on those playing for a fantasy championship this weekend. Robby Anderson has become rookie quarterback Sam Darnold's go-to receiving target and will have WR2 upside in the season finale. Tight end Chris Herndon IV should also benefit with more targets.
