Jaelen Strong News
Free-agent wide receiver Jaelen Strong is attempting a come back and has reportedly received interest from a number of NFC and AFC teams. The former third-round pick in 2015, Strong opted out of the 2020 season due to COVID-19 and last suited up for the Cleveland Browns in the 2019 preseason. Once a highly touted college receiver, Strong struggled in two seasons with the Texans and then tore his ACL in 2017. Strong, 27, is reportedly in shape and ready for a comeback, but he should remain on the waiver wire in all leagues.
The Cleveland Browns cut wide receiver Jaelen Strong on Monday. In his three seasons in the NFL (two with Houston, one with Jacksonville), Strong has only 31 catches for 330 yards and four touchdowns in 19 games. The most games he's played was 10 in his rookie season with the Texans. Strong's departure is good news for Derrick Willies and Ishmael Hyman, among others, as they try to make the final roster.
The Jacksonville Jaguars released wide receiver Jaelen Strong on Monday, according to a league source. Strong played in just one game and had three catches for 38 yards and a touchdown in Jacksonville last year. He also tore his ACL in that game and isn't a lock to be ready for the regular season in 2018, which will make it tough for him to land a job with another team. Strong has only 31 total catches for 330 yards (10.6 yards per catch) and four touchdowns in his three years in the league.
