Jesús Sánchez News
Miami Marlins outfielder Jesus Sanchez will be in the starting lineup on Friday against Corbin Burnes and the Milwaukee Brewers. He will hit fifth as the designated hitter for the fish. It will mark the first time Sanchez has been in a major league lineup since August 2. Sanchez has immense potential and can crush the ball, but his strikeout rate is out of control and he hasn't been able to make consistent enough hard contact to make up for it. The big lefty has a .205/.271/.387 slash line this season to go along with 12 homers and a steal. He shouldn't be added outside of the deepest of leagues, but could be someone to watch next season.
Miami Marlins outfielder Jesus Sanchez remains out of the starting lineup on Saturday against the Philadelphia Phillies. Sanchez is dealing with a personal matter and will miss his third straight game. However, he's come off the bench in the last two games, so he's still with the team. Bryan De La Cruz will be back in center field and is hitting seventh on Saturday against Phillies left-hander Ranger Suarez (back), who is returning from a stint on the injured list. De La Cruz has six home runs and 19 RBI in 71 games for the Fish while slashing .210/.260/.359 in 196 plate appearances. He's gone 7-for-49 (.143) with no home runs and three RBI against left-handed pitchers in 2022.
Miami Marlins outfielder Jesus Sanchez remains out of the starting lineup again on Friday against the Philadelphia Phillies. Sanchez was scratched from the starting lineup on Thursday with a personal issue, and it remains to be seen if he'll return before the All-Star break, which begins on Monday. The 24-year-old is hitting just .205/.262/.386, but he also has 11 home runs, 30 RBI, 32 runs scored and a stolen base in his 264 at-bats. Bryan De La Cruz will start in center field and bat seventh against Phillies right-hander Kyle Gibson. Jorge Soler (pelvis) has also returned from the injured list and is hitting cleanup in his first game back.
