Boston Red Sox catcher Christian Vazquez finished 2-for-4 with two home runs and five runs batted in during Sunday's 6-3 win over Philadelphia. This was Vazquez's biggest game of his career, and it came at a time when he had been cooling off near the end of the most productive season in his five years in the league. He's hitting .273 with a .781 OPS, 21 homers, 65 RBI, 25 doubles, and 59 runs. As someone that went undrafted in fantasy drafts, then to finish as one of the best at his position certainly raises some questions of sustainability heading into 2020, but for now just enjoy the career season for the 29-year-old.
Boston Red Sox catcher Christian Vazquez (rest) is out of the starting lineup for Thursday's game against the Toronto Blue Jays. Vazquez will get a routine day off here to rest, so he should be back in the lineup next game. Juan Centeno will draw the start behind the plate and bat ninth versus righty Clay Buchholz. Centeno doesn't have much upside with the bat, so he can be ignored in DFS contests.
Boston Red Sox catcher Christian Vazquez only notched one hit in Tuesday's win over Colorado, a two-run homer in the fourth inning. Vazquez has taken a steep ascent up the fantasy catcher rankings with his career year of 112 hits, 55 runs, 57 runs batted in, and 24 walks on top of his 19 bombs. There's little doubt that his production is unsustainable, based off of his numbers prior to 2019, but all that matters is this year. If you scooped him off of waivers earlier this year, he very well could help carry you to a fantasy title.
