Boston Red Sox catcher Christian Vazquez (rest) is out of the starting lineup for Saturday's game against the Baltimore Orioles. The Red Sox have been eliminated from postseason contention, so plenty of starters are absent on Saturday. Vazquez will get a regular day off behind the plate here. Sandy Leon will handle the catching duties and bat ninth versus lefty John Means. Leon isn't in a favorable part of the order and isn't worth a look in DFS contests.
Boston Red Sox catcher Christian Vazquez finished 2-for-4 with two home runs and five runs batted in during Sunday's 6-3 win over Philadelphia. This was Vazquez's biggest game of his career, and it came at a time when he had been cooling off near the end of the most productive season in his five years in the league. He's hitting .273 with a .781 OPS, 21 homers, 65 RBI, 25 doubles, and 59 runs. As someone that went undrafted in fantasy drafts, then to finish as one of the best at his position certainly raises some questions of sustainability heading into 2020, but for now just enjoy the career season for the 29-year-old.
Boston Red Sox catcher Christian Vazquez (rest) is out of the starting lineup for Thursday's game against the Toronto Blue Jays. Vazquez will get a routine day off here to rest, so he should be back in the lineup next game. Juan Centeno will draw the start behind the plate and bat ninth versus righty Clay Buchholz. Centeno doesn't have much upside with the bat, so he can be ignored in DFS contests.
