Cleveland Indians catcher Roberto Perez (ankle) underwent successful arthroscopic surgery on Wednesday to remove bone spurs from his right ankle. He is expected to be ready for spring training next year. The 30-year-old is coming off a career year for the Tribe in which he hit 24 home runs and drove in 63 runs while throwing out more than 40 percent of attempted base stealers. He caught more than 100 games without allowing a single passed ball. He was a resounding success in his first year as a full-time starter in Cleveland, and his excellent season has earned him the starting job heading into 2020.
Cleveland Indians catcher Roberto Perez (rest) is out of the starting lineup for Thursday's game against the New York Mets. Perez is normally the everyday catcher, but will get a routine day off here. Kevin Plawecki will draw the start behind the plate and bat seventh versus righty Noah Syndergaard. Plawecki doesn't have any fantasy value for this contest.
Cleveland Indians catcher Roberto Perez (rest) is out of the starting lineup for Saturday's game against the New York Yankees. Perez has surprisingly clubbed 20 home runs this season and become a decently reliable fantasy option at catcher. Kevin Plawecki will draw the start behind the plate and bat eighth versus lefty James Paxton. Plawecki is not worth a look in DFS contests.
