New York Yankees catcher Gary Sanchez is back just in time for the playoffs as the team begins their postseason push against the Twins on Friday. Sanchez (groin) missed two weeks in September but returned to play two games before the season ended. Sanchez posted a .623 slugging percentage in August but wasn't able to really produce in the final month of the season. Sanchez led all catchers with 34 home runs this season and will be a threat to go deep every time he steps to the plate.
New York Yankees catcher Gary Sanchez (groin) is aiming to play in the final series of the regular season this weekend at Texas. Sanchez was not placed on the injured list due to expanded September rosters, but has not played since September 12 because of a groin strain. Sanchez has had a strong season homering 34 times with a .518 slugging percentage and would have a good matchup vs a rookie starter Friday or Saturday making him an intriguing add for owners still vying for a championship. Some caution should be used in DFS however, the Yankees will be careful with their star catcher so he may only catch half a game or so as a tune-up for the playoffs.
New York Yankees catcher Gary Sanchez (groin) has been diagnosed with a left groin strain and he could be sidelined for the rest of the regular season. Sanchez missed almost three weeks earlier in the season due to the same issue. The Yankees have not announced a timetable yet, so fantasy owners will just have to wait. Kyle Higashioka will draw the start behind the plate and bat eighth versus righty Jacob Waguespack. Higashioka doesn't have much upside with the bat, so he can be ignored.
