Jesse Hahn News
The Los Angeles Dodgers signed free-agent right-hander Jesse Hahn to a minor-league deal on Wednesday that includes an invite to big-league spring training, according to sources. Hahn has pitched in parts of seven seasons in the majors with the San Diego Padres, Oakland Athletics and Kansas City Royals but hasn't appeared in a professional game since 2021. In his seven major-league campaigns, the 34-year-old veteran has a 19-21 record with a 4.22 ERA (3.93 FIP), 1.34 WHIP, four saves and a weak 18 percent strikeout rate in 311 1/3 innings over 82 appearances (50 starts). Hahn will have an uphill battle to climb and perhaps even stay healthy as he competes for a roster spot in spring training on a stacked Dodgers roster.
The Kansas City Royals have transferred relief pitcher Jesse Hahn (shoulder) from the 10-day injured list to the 60-day injured list. The move was a surprising development as all indications had been that Hahn was close to making his return. He apparently experienced a setback in his recovery, though the details of the setback have yet to be released by the team. Hahn was first placed on the injured list on April 12 due to right shoulder impingement syndrome. With the transfer to the 60-day injured list, he won't be eligible to return until June 11.
Kansas City Royals relief pitcher Jesse Hahn (shoulder) has been placed on the 10-day injured list with a right shoulder impingement, the team announced on Monday. In a corresponding move, they recalled pitcher Jake Newberry from the alternate site. Hahn has not looked great this year, posting a 13.50 ERA with four walks and three strikeouts in 3 1/3 innings of work. With Hahn out, Newberry can be a solid, high-strikeout middle reliever target in SV/HLD formats, coming off a Spring Training performance in which he posted a 3.48 ERA with 13 strikeouts in 10 1/3 innings.
