Chicago White Sox pitcher Ross Detwiler will draw the start against the Kansas City Royals on Thursday. He was moved to the bullpen, but will make at least one more appearance in the starting rotation. He has a 5.02 ERA this season, so he's not a favorable fantasy option. Detwiler can be avoided, even against the struggling Royals offense.
The Chicago White Sox have purchased the contract of pitcher Ross Detwiler from Triple-A Charlotte and he will start on Friday. Detwiler is 8-8 with a 3.98 ERA in Triple-A and owns a career 4.36 ERA. The lefty can be avoided in a tough matchup versus the Twins on Friday.
Oakland A's pitcher Ross Detwiler, who has been pitching all season for the Triple-A Nashville Sounds, opted out of his contract and was granted his release by the A's. He is now a free agent. Detwiler made nine appearances for the A's last year (seven starts) and pitched to a 6.14 ERA with a 1.60 WHIP and a 4.7 K/9. He had pitched to a 1.17 ERA in the month of May but has a 7.50 ERA on the season. He was pitching exclusively out of the bullpen in Nashville. Detwiler is best known for being a productive reliever for the Nationals between 2009-2014, but he has struggled over the last two seasons. He will look for another opportunity to make an impact with a big league ballclub in 2017. Unless he pitches his way into an MLB starting rotation, which at this point seems highly unlikely, he should not be on your fantasy radar.
