Colorado Rockies starting pitcher Antonio Senzatela threw six innings of one-run ball on Wednesday to nail down the win, giving him his first win since July. It was also his first quality start since June. Senzatela was sent down in July after getting destroyed in three straight starts, but he had also been rocked in his first three starts since returning in late August. Facing the first-place Cardinals in Coors, he would have only been started by the most desperate of owners, but he turned in a beautiful outing where he only allowed four hits and struck out five. Owners shouldn't believe the one good outing. He is still only someone the truly desperate should court.
Colorado Rockies starting pitcher Antonio Senzatela has been recalled to draw the start against the St. Louis Cardinals on Sunday. The Rockies rotation is banged up with Kyle Freeland (groin) and Jon Gray (foot) both sidelined. Senzatela has a 6.29 ERA over 18 starts with Colorado this season. He's not a reliable fantasy option right now, so leave him on the waiver wire.
Colorado Rockies starting pitcher Antonio Senzatela tossed another good game on the road on Sunday, but he was left without the decision after late-game shenanigans. Senzatela went 6 1/3 innings before exiting the game with runners on the corners. His replacement promptly gave up a pinch-hit three-run home run to the first batter he faced, saddling Senzatela with the two runs. Senzatela also struck out five in the outing while only walking one, his best K/BB ratio this season. Senzatela's lack of consistent strikeouts combined with what is usually a sky-high walk rate make him nearly untouchable in most leagues, but truly desperate owners can use him once in a while as a streamer away from home (6.21 home ERA, 3.92 away ERA). His next start is against the Dodgers in Coors, so that one is not recommended.
