Chicago White Sox starting pitcher Lucas Giolito (chest) is scheduled to throw on Saturday. Giolito was sidelined early in spring training with a strained chest muscle, but appears to be making progress. Giolito is coming off a breakout campaign in 2019 and RotoBaller has him as the number 16 starting pitcher entering 2020. Giolito pitches in a fairly easy division with the Royals and Tigers and could build off of his 2019 success. He should go between the fifth and sixth round.
Chicago White Sox starting pitcher Lucas Giolito (chest) is "feeling 100 percent" and expects to throw a bullpen session by the end of the week. Giolito threw from 150 feet on Tuesday in a flat-ground session that included some breaking pitches. He has no doubts that he'll be ready for Opening Day on March 26. The 25-year-old right-hander broke out in 2019 and was an All-Star for the first time while going 14-9 with a 3.41 ERA, 1.06 WHIP and 228 strikeouts in 176 2/3 innings over 29 starts. He's in play as a second fantasy starter behind a much-improved White Sox lineup this year.
Chicago White Sox starting pitcher Lucas Giolito (rib cage) is dealing with soreness in his rib cage and has a strain in his chest muscle. Giolito will miss the first week of Cactus League games, but the injury isn't serious and he's expected to be ready for Opening Day. The 25-year-old broke out last year by going 14-9 with a 3.41 ERA, 1.06 WHIP, 228 strikeouts and 57 walks in 29 starts (176 2/3 innings). He was selected to the All-Star game for the first time in his four seasons. Keep an eye on his injury in the next week or so, but Giolito should be considered a low-end fantasy ace if he's ready for the start of the season.
