Detroit Tigers outfielder JaCoby Jones (wrist) has been placed on the 10-day injured list, retroactive August 9. He suffered a fractured left wrist when he was hit by a pitch on Thursday. There is a good chance that Jones is done for the reminder of the 2019 season. Harold Castro will bat leadoff and play center field versus righty Jakob Junis on Sunday. Castro doesn't have much fantasy value, even in that spot in the order.
Detroit Tigers outfielder JaCoby Jones (back) is expected to go out on a short minor league rehab assignment, according to manager Ron Gardenhire. Jones, who has been out with back spasms, is scheduled to play three or four games for Triple-A Toledo, beginning on Monday. Jones hasn't played since July 1 and was hitting .244/.313/.444 with nine homers, 28 runs, 23 RBI and six steals in 225 at-bats before his injury. He's useful in AL-only leagues, mainly for his speed.
On Thursday, the Detroit Tigers placed outfielder JaCoby Jones (low back strain) on the 10-day Injured List. Jones has been a mainstay in the Tigers' lineup all year, starting in centerfield and typically batting ninth, but starting in mid-June, he began leading off a good amount. Jones doesn't contribute much in fantasy terms, with a .247/.316/.448 slash line and nine home runs, 23 RBI and 28 runs on the season. He can be dropped anywhere he was owned. The Tigers called up Victor Reyes to take his place on the roster and Reyes should get a good amount of starts in centerfield while Jones is out.
