Ramón Laureano News
Oakland Athletics outfielder Ramon Laureano went 2-for-5 with two home runs, two runs scored and four RBI in the team's 8-6 loss to the Seattle Mariners on Thursday evening. Laureano finished the month of June on a good note and hit .255/.320/.436 with three home runs, nine RBI, 11 runs scored and four stolen bases in 25 games in the month. It was nice to see the 27-year-old clear the fences, as he had just one home run in his previous 27 games. As usual, he's more of a threat on the base paths because of his speed. In 47 games for Oakland this season, Laureano is slashing .244/.328/.387 with four home runs, 13 RBI, 22 runs scored and seven stolen bases in 189 plate appearances.
Oakland Athletics outfielder Ramon Laureano is not in the starting lineup for Sunday's game against the Kansas City Royals. Cristian Pache will be covering center field for the game. Laureano had started 27 consecutive games, so he was due for an off day. The 27-year-old has appeared in 43 games this year and he's slashed .238/.327/.351 with two home runs, six stolen bases, eight RBI and 18 runs. Expect to see him back on the field for Monday's series opener against the New York Yankees.
Oakland Athletics outfielder Ramon Laureano (hand) is back in right field and is hitting leadoff on Thursday evening against Texas Rangers left-hander Martin Perez. Laureano missed his fourth straight game on Wednesday when he was scratched from the starting lineup after he had trouble gripping a bat. But a CT scan turned up negative and he'll be back in the lineup Thursday. The 27-year-old has played in only 16 games this year while finishing up a suspension early on, and he's hitting just .167/.310/.250 with no homers, one RBI and two stolen bases in 58 plate appearances. Laureano is worth rostering in deeper leagues, though, due to his modest power and speed.

Oakland Athletics outfielder Ramon Laureano (suspension) was suspended 80 games for violating MLB's PED policy and has 27 games remaining on his suspension. He underwent core surgery to address a sports hernia last October but is expected to be ready when his suspension is lifted in May. Before the suspension, the 27-year-old slashed .246/.317/.413 while posting .459 XSLG and .327 wOBA over 88 games. His barrel rate increased from 9.4% in 2020 to 10.4% in 2021, while his hard-hit percentage rose from 34.4% to 40.2%. Once Laureano returns from suspension, he will hit near the top of the order as the team's everyday centerfielder. The A's outfielder should hit around 20 homers and swipe 10 bags in 2022. ATC/Cutter projections are on board with this assessment and projecting Laureano to hit .254 with 20 long balls and 13 stolen bases over 500 plate appearances. According to Rotoballer's Expected Draft Values, ATC's projections make Laureano roughly fair value at his ADP of 269. Laureano is in the prime of his career and should produce for fantasy managers once he returns from suspension.
