Robinson Cano To Debut On Friday

New York Mets second baseman Robinson Cano (legs) is set to debut in spring training on Friday when the Mets take on the Cardinals. Cano is spending more time strengthening his legs than previous spring camps in an effort to avoid the same leg issues he suffered in 2019. Quadriceps and hamstring injuries limited Cano to just 107 games in 2019. If Cano is healthy, the Mets will likely give him every opportunity to re-emerge as a productive bat in the middle of a potent Mets lineup. Cano is certainly worth a draft selection in deep mixed leagues and in all NL-only formats.

Robinson Cano To Potentially Debut Within Next Two Weeks

New York Mets manager Luis Rojas indicated that second baseman Robinson Cano is working to strengthen his legs. Rojas expects Cano to debut in Grapefruit League games around the end of February or start of March. Cano was hampered by quadriceps and hamstring injuries in 2019, which limited him to 107 games. In 2019, Cano hit .256 with 13 home runs and 39 RBI in 390 at-bats. Given his injury history and age (37), Cano's best days are behind him. With that said, if he's healthy, the Mets would likely keep him in the lineup given his hefty contract and the high price to acquire him from the Mariners. If fully healthy, Cano would have every opportunity to re-emerge as a productive bat in the middle of a potent Mets lineup. He is worth a draft selection in deep mixed leagues and in all NL-only formats.

Robinson Cano Homers Sunday Against Phillies

New York Mets second baseman Robinson Cano's only hit of the afternoon on Sunday was his 12th home run of the year, as he went 1-for-3 with a walk and two RBI. It was Cano's second home run since returning from the IL, and he is now hitting .455 with four RBI and three runs scored over four games. Owners with deeper benches might want to consider adding Cano now in case he continues this hot streak, and he should be a decent value in daily leagues going forward.
