Miguel Cabrera Returns Wednesday

Detroit Tigers designated hitter Miguel Cabrera is back in the lineup Wednesday after having not played since Friday due to knee soreness. It's been a pretty tough year for Cabrera, who in 132 games is hitting .285/.350/.391 with 10 home runs for an awful Detroit squad. The good news is Detroit has six games left, including four at the White Sox' hitters park, but Cabrera's health is a question mark and the lineup gives him no support. Ultimately he's just an AL-only option as the season winds down. Right now the Tigers are at home, where he's a DFS fade.

Miguel Cabrera Will See Specialist After the Season

Detroit Tigers first baseman Miguel Cabrera (knee) is out of the starting lineup on Tuesday as he continues to deal with a lingering knee issue. Cabrera said on Tuesday that he plans to see a specialist after the season about his knee issues. He'll likely end up getting platelet-rich plasma injections, so hopefully that will somewhat help him. He's still under contract through 2023 and has only 10 home runs this season. Hopefully Miggy can figure out a way to fix his knee issues over the offseason.

Miguel Cabrera Remains Out of the Lineup

Detroit Tigers designated hitter Miguel Cabrera (knee) is out of the starting lineup for Sunday's game against the Chicago White Sox. Cabrera was scratched from Saturday's game due to a sore right knee. It's likely that Cabrera sits quite a bit with the Tigers out of contention and a week left of the regular season. Christin Stewart will serve as the designated hitter and bat fifth versus righty Reynaldo Lopez. Stewart has been average with the bat, but doesn't offer much upside.

Jeimer Candelario Batting Fifth Thursday

Detroit Tigers infielder Jeimer Candelario, who has been dealing with triceps soreness, is back in the team's lineup and playing first base on Thursday. However, the Tigers are facing the Cleveland Indians and starting pitcher Mike Clevinger, so the entire Detroit lineup is a DFS fade even with a small slate. As for Candelario's value in standard leagues, it's pretty much non-existent with the health issues on top of his already highly dubious profile.

Matthew Boyd Scheduled To Start on Sunday

Detroit Tigers starter Matthew Boyd (personal) is lined up to make his next start on Sunday against the White Sox, according to manager Ron Gardenhire. Boyd is away from the team to deal with a family issue but expects to return to Detroit over the weekend. The 28-year-old will carry a record of 8-11, along with a 4.54 ERA and 228 strikeouts into the weekend start, making him a strong candidate in standard mixed leagues.
