Detroit Pistons center Andre Drummond received an unintentional elbow to the face while jockeying for a rebound on Friday night that resulted in the big man exiting to the locker room and not returning to action. He took the blow from James Johnson and was bleeding. It is unknown the severity of the injury and if he does miss some time, we should see Blake Griffin get a handful of minutes at the five and Zaza Pachulia seeing more minutes, but he does not hold much fantasy value.
Detroit Pistons center Andre Drummond once again showed why he is the best rebounder in the league, by a wide margin, in Wednesday's overtime victory over the Magic. The 25-year-old scored 14 points and hauled down 11 offensive rebounds and 11 defensive rebounds (22 total) for the 11th "Moses Malone triple-double" of his career. A "Moses Malone triple-double" is when a player scores 10 or more points while also grabbing double-digit rebounds on both ends of the floor. He also made seven of 15 shots from the floor and blocked a shot as well as doled out an assist in the game. It was his 36th double-double of the campaign and the 39th time that he has brought down double-figure caroms, which includes topping the 20- rebound mark on eight occasions. The seventh-year pro ranks second in the league in rebound percentage, fourth in defensive rebound percentage and second in offensive rebound percentage. Drummond, who is averaging 2.1 steals a game this month, will look to post his fifth straight double-double on Friday against Hassan Whiteside and the Heat. The former UConn star had a monster game against the Heat in the first meeting this season, compiling 25 points along with 24 rebounds (11 offensive) and three assists
Detroit Pistons center Andre Drummond finished Monday's 100-94 road loss against the Utah Jazz with 15 points, 13 rebounds, three steals and an assist over 35 minutes. It isn't often that a strong double-double is overshadowed, but Utah's Rudy Gobert went off for 18 points, 25 rebounds and two blocked shots to win the duel of the big men. While Drum's overall stat line was slightly below his season averages in both categories, fantasy owners aren't complaining too vehemently. He has three straight double-double since a six-point stinker Jan. 9 against the Lakers, and he is averaging 15.7 points, 15.0 rebounds and 2.0 steals per game over the past three outings.
