Chicago Bulls guard Tomas Satoransky has been named the starting point guard for the regular season opener, according to head coach Jim Boylen. Dunn was the favorite to win the job in camp, but that quickly faded. Boylen likes Dunn's defense off the bench, so that's how the team will begin the season. Satoransky is worth grabbing in the middle of most drafts.
Atlanta Hawks shooting guard Kevin Huerter has been ruled out for the rest of Tuesdays game against the Denver Nuggets due to left shoulder pain. Huerter logged 16 minutes prior to his departure and finished a perfect 4-for-4 from the field, accruing 11 points to go along with four rebounds and three assists. Without Huerter in the mix, rookie Cam Reddish is likely to pick up some additional minutes and looks on the offensive end of the floor. Making his second straight start, Huerter has now finished in double figures in four consecutive games, with his next chance to return to action coming Thursday against Phoenix.
Portland Trail Blazers shooting guard/small forward Rodney Hood has been ruled out for Tuesdays contest against the Sacramento Kings due to back spasms. Forward Mario Hezonja will enter the starting five in his stead and figures to be a solid DFS play for those that can still fit him into lineups. Hood, who is averaging 10.6 points per game despite wildly fluctuating performances, sat out Sundays game versus Atlanta and now has his next chance at suiting up coming Wednesday versus Toronto. Owners can consider him questionable at best, needing to check back before tip-off to get an official designation.
Denver Nuggets shooting guard Malik Beasley will be sidelined for Tuesdays contest against the Atlanta Hawks due to an illness. Beasley, who has seen his minutes crater over the teams previous two contests, has not followed up his breakout campaign with any notable fantasy efforts during the 2019-20 campaign. His absence doesnt immediately lend credence to any members of the Nuggets rotation garnering extra minutes, with his next chance to suit up coming Thursday against Brooklyn.
Memphis Grizzlies point/shooting guard Grayson Allen is still dealing with the effects of a sore left ankle and is unlikely to participate Wednesday versus the Charlotte Hornets. Allen, who has earned a doubtful designation, has missed each of his teams previous five games. In his first season with the Grizzlies, the second-year guard has averaged 7.4 points per game as a reserve, although any progress that he was making from a fantasy perspective has been halted by his extended absence. His next best opportunity to suit up comes Friday versus his former club, the Utah Jazz.
Minnesota Timberwolves point/shooting guard Shabazz Napier and power forward/center Jordan Bell are both unlikely to participate in Wednesdays contest versus the San Antonio Spurs with each man earning a doubtful designation. Both have missed Minnesotas past four games, as Napier deals with a strained right hamstring and Bell battles a strained right shoulder. With fellow point guard Jeff Teague (illness) questionable, Napiers absence likely pushes a larger role on Jarrett Culver. The best chance for either Napier or Bells return likely comes Friday versus Washington.
Boston Celtics power forward/center Daniel Theis has been tagged as doubtful to participate in Wednesdays game against the Washington Wizards due to a sprained pinky finger on his right hand. Without Theis in the mix, Enes Kanter can be expected to pick up the slack, although Robert Williams will also likely absorb some minutes. Theis has started each of Bostons previous six games and has averaged a modest 6.1 points and 6.4 rebounds per contest to this point, with his likely next chance of taking the floor coming Friday versus Golden State.
Minnesota Timberwolves point guard Jeff Teague has missed each of his teams previous four games due to an illness and he is in danger of missing his fifth straight Wednesday versus the San Antonio Spurs. Teague has officially been given a questionable designation, with Jarrett Culver set to continue to fill in should the teams veteran point guard be unavailable. The duo of Andrew Wiggins and Karl-Anthony Towns have absorbed many of Teagues shots in his absence, with both likely to see a slight step back should he make his return Wednesday. Check back before tip-off to get word on whether Teague will be cleared to suit up.
Los Angeles Clippers small/power forward Paul George could potentially make his season debut during Wednesdays contest against the Houston Rockets, where he is tagged as questionable due to the shoulder ailments that have kept him out to this point in 2019-20. Its unlikely that Los Angeles would clear George to play and not give him a workload that mirrors his normal allotment, although whether or not he will suit up alongside Kawhi Leonard likely impacts his DFS value. Check back closer to tip-off to get official word on George, who is at least circling the tarmac of making his debut.
Philadelphia 76ers point guard Trey Burke will miss Tuesdays game against the Cleveland Cavaliers due to left calf tightness. Burke, who is celebrating his 27th birthday Tuesday, has found a role over the past two games as a member of the Sixers reserve group, although how long that lasts with Ben Simmons back in the mix remains to be seen. His absence will likely be replaced by Shake Milton, who has been cleared to return from injury, with Burkes next chance to suit up coming Wednesday versus Orlando.
Philadelphia 76ers point/shooting guard Shake Milton had previously been ruled out for Tuesdays contest against the Cleveland Cavaliers, but has now been given the green light to take the court for the first time since Oct. 28. Without Trey Burke available off the bench, Milton will likely see some run, although coming off a six-game absence, owners can temper their expectations. With Ben Simmons also cleared to suit up, its unlikely that Milton sees enough minutes to make him a fantasy commodity.
