Boston Celtics forward Jayson Tatum needed just 18 minutes to record 19 points in the 149-115 win over the Nets on Wednesday. Tatum was efficient making seven of his 11 shots from the floor and added two rebounds with a steal while drilling five triples. We can almost call this a day off for the star with playing just 18 minutes as this one got of control quite early on. The Celtics take on the Raptors on Friday and this will be a big test for both sides and we can assume Tatum will be well-rested for that one, making him an intriguing play.
New York Knicks forward OG Anunoby (elbow) has been ruled out for the contest against the San Antonio Spurs on Friday which pushes his missed game streak to six in a row. Anunoby came back from his elbow injury for three games but has since gone back to the sidelines after a flare-up in his elbow. The Knicks threw Anunoby back on the court in a full starting role without limitations when he returned, so it seems he took on too much too early. While he's out, Miles McBride should continue to see more opportunities while Donte DiVincenzo sees an uptick in value as well.
Portland Trail Blazers guard Anfernee Simons (knee) will not play in Friday's game against the Miami Heat. This will be the fourth consecutive game he will sit out because of left knee tendinitis. Portland could be very short-handed on Friday, as they have injuries to both their backcourt and frontcourt. His absence has led to increased opportunities for Rayan Rupert and Ashton Hagans. The most significant beneficiary of Simons being sidelined is Dalano Banton, who scored more than 28 points in consecutive games. Fantasy owners will have to monitor Simons' injury status moving forward. The next chance for him to suit up will be Monday when the Trail Blazers play against the Orlando Magic.
San Antonio Spurs forward Keldon Johnson (knee) is questionable for Friday's game against the New York Knicks. Johnson missed the team's previous game versus the Utah Jazz due to right knee soreness. The Spurs benefited from Johnson playing well over the past month and taking advantage of extra minutes to increase his numbers. Malaki Branham and Cedi Osman should see their minutes increase if Johnson is forced to miss another game or multiple games moving forward. San Antonio's best players, Victor Wembanyama, Devin Vassell, and Jeremy Sochan, would have higher ceilings if Johnson isn't in the lineup.
Portland Trail Blazers guard Matisse Thybulle (ankle) is questionable for Friday's game against the Miami Heat due to a right ankle impingement. The 27-year-old missed the previous five games, as Portland is currently dealing with numerous injuries. If Thybulle can take the court on Friday, he could have a significant role since Jerami Grant (hamstring) is considered doubtful, and Toumani Camara (ribs) is out. If Thybulle is unable to play, Dalano Banton and Rayan Rupert will likely be given plenty of minutes.
Charlotte Hornets forward Davis Bertans (nose) has been tagged as probable for Friday's game against Golden State due to a nose injury. The sharpshooting forward has played in 34 games, averaging 6.4 points, 2.0 rebounds, 1.3 assists, and 1.1 steals. He's been playing 13.9 minutes per contest, so it will be fine if he's unable to suit up for the Hornets. Fantasy managers should avoid the 31-year-old across all fantasy formats.
Phoenix Suns center Jusuf Nurkic (ankle) is questionable heading into Friday's game against the Oklahoma City Thunder. Nurkic is in danger of missing his second consecutive game with a sprained right ankle. The Suns started Drew Eubanks in Nurkic's spot during a win over the Denver Nuggets on Wednesday evening. Thaddeus Young and Bol Bol were the reserves to get more time in a game without their starting center active. Nurkic is one of the rare consistent contributors for Phoenix's limited roster depth, and they badly need wins to end the regular season, so keep an eye on the injury report before game time.
Golden State Warriors forward/center Dario Saric (knee) is a game-time decision for Friday's contest with the Hornets due to right knee soreness. Saric has played in three of the last 10 Golden State games, averaging 0.7 points, 0.3 assists, and 0.3 rebounds in 5.3 minutes per contest. If the 29-year-old suits up, Saric will get limited minutes on the court and should not be on any fantasy manager's radar for all fantasy formats.
Brooklyn Nets power forward Noah Clowney (back) is probable for Friday's game against the Chicago Bulls. Clowney is dealing with a back contusion, but he is expected to play on Friday evening. The rookie spent most of this season in the G League, but he's received rotation minutes over the past week. Clowney has averaged 12 minutes over the past four games to show Brooklyn's desire to give him more time. The Nets' lackluster season nearing an end should see younger players like Clowney getting more consistent time. However, Clowney will unlikely make a strong fantasy impact over starters like Nicolas Claxton, Mikal Bridges, and Dorian Finney-Smith.
Golden State Warriors forward Jonathan Kuminga (knee) is listed as questionable for Friday's game against the Charlotte Hornets. Due to knee soreness, Kuminga didn't suit up in Wednesday's win over the Magic. The 21-year-old has averaged 19.4 points, 4.6 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game during 13 starts in March. Klay Thompson will likely come off the bench if he isn't available. Moses Moody and Trayce Jackson-Davis may also be tapped for starting positions.
Portland Trail Blazers forward Jerami Grant (hamstring) is listed as doubtful for Friday's game against the Miami Heat due to a right hamstring strain. He sat out the previous nine games, and it sounds like he is trending toward missing another one. There is uncertainty as to when Grant will return to the court. But with Portland well out of the playoff picture, there is no need for him to be rushed back into action. The Trail Blazers frontcourt could be shorthanded for Friday's game, which will likely force Jabari Walker to take on more responsibility.
