Oklahoma City Thunder small forward Luguentz Dort (knee) has been ruled out for Wednesday's game vs. Memphis due to a left knee contusion. The absence will mark the first of the year for Dort, opening up minutes on the wing for Jalen Williams, Isaiah Joe and others. While multiple OKC players will see a slight uptick in value, so will Ja Morant, who avoids Dort's tenacious defense. While Dort has shot just 40.5% overall through his first 24 games, he is on pace for new career bests in rebounds (4.6), assists (2.3) and steals (1.2) per contest, making him a worthy addition in medium-sized or larger formats. His next chance to suit up comes Saturday against the Cavaliers.
Charlotte Hornets forward Davis Bertans (nose) has been tagged as probable for Friday's game against Golden State due to a nose injury. The sharpshooting forward has played in 34 games, averaging 6.4 points, 2.0 rebounds, 1.3 assists, and 1.1 steals. He's been playing 13.9 minutes per contest, so it will be fine if he's unable to suit up for the Hornets. Fantasy managers should avoid the 31-year-old across all fantasy formats.
Phoenix Suns center Jusuf Nurkic (ankle) is questionable heading into Friday's game against the Oklahoma City Thunder. Nurkic is in danger of missing his second consecutive game with a sprained right ankle. The Suns started Drew Eubanks in Nurkic's spot during a win over the Denver Nuggets on Wednesday evening. Thaddeus Young and Bol Bol were the reserves to get more time in a game without their starting center active. Nurkic is one of the rare consistent contributors for Phoenix's limited roster depth, and they badly need wins to end the regular season, so keep an eye on the injury report before game time.
Golden State Warriors forward/center Dario Saric (knee) is a game-time decision for Friday's contest with the Hornets due to right knee soreness. Saric has played in three of the last 10 Golden State games, averaging 0.7 points, 0.3 assists, and 0.3 rebounds in 5.3 minutes per contest. If the 29-year-old suits up, Saric will get limited minutes on the court and should not be on any fantasy manager's radar for all fantasy formats.
Golden State Warriors forward Jonathan Kuminga (knee) is listed as questionable for Friday's game against the Charlotte Hornets. Due to knee soreness, Kuminga didn't suit up in Wednesday's win over the Magic. The 21-year-old has averaged 19.4 points, 4.6 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game during 13 starts in March. Klay Thompson will likely come off the bench if he isn't available. Moses Moody and Trayce Jackson-Davis may also be tapped for starting positions.
Brooklyn Nets guard Dennis Smith Jr. (hip) is probable for Friday's game versus the Chicago Bulls. Smith has missed the past two games with his right hip synovitis bothering him. The Nets' backup point guard gets consistent rotation time as a great defender, but he rarely holds fantasy relevance. Dennis Schroder gets most minutes as the starting point guard, and Smith just hopes to fit into the game when healthy. Jacob Gilyard will lose his chance at playing time now that Smith is slated to return. Lonnie Walker IV's diminishing playing time could also benefit Smith by getting more minutes as a reserve guard with his improved health.
Utah Jazz forward Lauri Markkanen (shoulder) is questionable for Friday's matchup against the Rockets. The Jazz are already eliminated from postseason contention, so the 2017 No. 7 overall pick might get another night off to avoid further injury. Markannen's most recent absence was when these clubs met nearly a week ago. Johnny Juzang got the start in that one. However, Brice Sensabaugh logged 27 minutes from the bench and finished with 16 points, four boards, and four assists, making him an ideal DFS value option if Markkanen isn't in the lineup on Friday night.
Washington Wizards center Richaun Holmes (toe) will miss Friday's matchup with Detroit. Holmes left Wednesday's contest against the Nets due to a left toe contusion. With Holmes sidelined, Marvin Bagley III will likely be the starting center. In Holmes's absence, forwards Anthony Gill, Patrick Baldwin, and Tristan Vukcevic should see an uptick in minutes on the court. However, these three players will make little of an impact in DFS on Friday.
Brooklyn Nets forward Cameron Johnson (toe) was officially ruled out for Friday's game against the Chicago Bulls. Johnson is having a disappointing season, and it only grows worse with more injury woes. Brooklyn sees Johnson missing his third consecutive game and his 19th game out of 74 total games. A left-toe sprain will see the Nets being cautious as they fall further out of the Play-In race. Dorian Finney-Smith gets more playing time without Johnson competing for the same spot in the lineup. Brooklyn has also increased the minutes for role players Jalen Wilson, Trendon Watford, and Noah Clowney in recent games with Johnson out.
Dallas Mavericks guard Luka Doncic (Achilles) is questionable for Friday's rematch with the Sacramento Kings. It's common to see Doncic on the injury report. However, his latest ailment, Achilles soreness, has bothered him for weeks. He logged 32 minutes when these clubs met on Tuesday, finishing with 28 points, 11 rebounds, six assists, and two steals. The Mavs would love another win over the Kings to widen the gap in the Western Conference standings, meaning Doncic should be in the lineup. But if he doesn't suit up, Kyrie Irving would be a lock for all DFS contests. There would also be room for Dante Exum, P.J. Washington, and Tim Hardaway Jr. to get more involved on the scoring end.
Minnesota Timberwolves center Rudy Gobert (rib) is questionable for Friday's clash with the Denver Nuggets. He has a left rib sprain, although he's been playing through the injury. The multi-time Defensive Player of the Year most recently logged 34 minutes in Wednesday's win over the Pistons, ending the night with a double-double with two blocks. The Timberwolves and Nuggets are fighting for the top spot in the Western Conference, so it's unlikely Gobert will miss this one. But if he does sit out, Naz Reid would presumably cover the five spot, with Kyle Anderson and Nickeil Alexander-Walker getting more minutes than usual.
