Isaiah Thomas News
Dallas Mavericks guard Isaiah Thomas has entered the league's health and safety protocols. This happens one day after Thomas signed a 10-day deal with the organization. He scored six points with four assists in 13 minutes during his Mavericks debut on Wednesday. He'll now join a long list of Mavericks players in protocols. Honestly, it's uncertain if they will have enough players to even play Friday's game against the Sacramento Kings. Jalen Brunson, Josh Green, and Frank Ntilikina would all see heavy minutes, assuming they do play. Brunson is by far the best fantasy option out of the three, but all of them have value for the shorthanded Mavericks.
Ante Zizic, an unproven rookie was also included in the deal that sends Kyrie Irving to his new home where he can start his new persona as superstar Kyrie. Not only have the Celtics completely revamped their entire team over the past two years, and the fantasy implications are massive. The Celtics are going to be a entirely different team this season that has the potential to benefit from the spacing and added talent, but might be hard to track for fantasy. Trying to determine who will be the biggest source of production will cause headaches, but it's easy to assume Irving and Hayward will do most of the facilitating and shooting. Al Horford has been very consistent and he should not be any type of liability, so those three players will always be go to players in DFS, although in standard leagues this will lower their overall value. Kyrie Irving will be allowed to play the same role in Boston, even though he is going to have to evolve into the main guy within the team. If this is his chance to become a superstar, we will see how quickly he can mesh with a team that is just learning to play alongside each other. As far as Cleveland is concerned, just imagine how Isaiah Thomas will be alongside the best player in the world, even if it is just for a year. Cleveland adds defense but as far as fantasy, Thomas holds the same value, if not less seeing how his previous season was nothing short of spectacular.
Boston Celtics guard Isaiah Thomas has been a thorn in the side of the Cavs all season. He's averaging 29.5 points per game, 6.5 assists, three rebounds and one steal against them. That in itself just tells you how good he's been when playing them, and don't look for that to change anytime soon. The Cavs don't seem to have anyone that can stop Thomas one-on-one, so look for Isaiah to continue this type of production.
Boston Celtics shortstop Isaiah Thomas had another fantastic game in the series-clincher against Washington Monday night. While his offensive play was overshadowed by Kelly Olynyk, he still was a huge contributor in Boston's 18-2 run in the fourth quarter. His circus shots and ability to draw the double team led him to 29 points and 12 assists across 40 minutes. Thomas now has his sights on Cleveland in the Eastern Conference Finals and must be able to provide the same magic to have a chance.
