Ed Davis News
Cleveland Cavaliers center Ed Davis has entered the league's health and safety protocols. That means, Davis won't be available for Tuesday's game against the Boston Celtics. Normally, Davis isn't much of a factor in the rotation. However, he was possibly looking at the spot start with the Cavaliers being shorthanded. Now, Kevin Love should move into the starting five on Tuesday. He'll be a strong streaming option and certainly someone worth looking at in DFS contests. Luke Kornet could get some playing time as well, but wouldn't be as reliable of an option.
The Minnesota Timberwolves have traded for big man Ed Davis, sending Omari Spellman and Jacob Evans to the Knicks. Davis reunites with former Nets teammate D'Angelo Russell. Davis is a hard-nosed player who'll provide useful defense and can set screens for the offense, but his projected role won't be on that's conducive to fantasy basketball leagues, unless you need rebounding help in an extremely deep league.
Utah Jazz center Ed Davis (knee) has been ruled out for the entire first round versus the Denver Nuggets. The team mentioned that he will be re-evaluated in a few weeks, which means he could miss more than just the first round. He was averaging 10.8 minutes per game this season. Those minutes will be split up between Rudy Gobert and Tony Bradley. The absence of Davis won't have a huge fantasy impact, but Gobert should gain a little fantasy value until Davis returns.
Utah Jazz power forward/center Ed Davis will be back in the fold for Fridays game against the Memphis Grizzlies, returning to action less than a month after sustaining a fractured left fibula. How quickly head coach Quin Snyder inserts him into the rotation remains to be seen, but Davis has proven to be a rebounding savant in the past when given ample minutes. Starting center Rudy Gobert has been dinged up as of late and any missed time moving forward would likely pave the way for Davis to see an increased role.
