Frank Kaminsky News
Phoenix Suns forward/center Frank Kaminsky came out of nowhere to drop a career-high 31 points in Wednesday's 119-109 win over Portland. He logged 32 points off the bench and shot 12-for-18 from the field with a 2-for-5 record from outside and a 5-for-5 effort at the line. The Winfield, Illinois native also recorded seven rebounds in the game with three assists, one block and one turnover. Kaminsky has had a couple of decent performances lately but ended up looking like prime Hakeem Olajuwon against the Blazers. This was a third consecutive game starting center Deandre Ayton (leg) missed and Kaminsky has now averaged 19 points during the stretch with six rebounds and one block. He'll be logging extended minutes until Ayton returns and that makes Kaminsky a pretty attractive fantasy piece right now.
Phoenix Suns center Frank Kaminsky scored 15 points on 5-for-7 shooting in Friday's game against the Detroit Pistons. In addition, he grabbed five rebounds and dished out one assist. Kaminsky was 3-for-4 from three. He'll face the Celtics on Sunday, who allow opponents to shoot the ninth-lowest percentage from three and to score the ninth-fewest points per game. Kaminsky was a late addition to the starting unit over Cam Johnson, who was moved to the bench. If he plays 20-plus minutes again on Sunday, he'll be an interesting DFS value play.
Phoenix Suns center/forward Frank Kaminsky will start Friday against the Pistons, with forward Cameron Johnson moving to the bench. Starting two centers is a strange move for the Suns, but against a Pistons team that tends to play big, it makes slightly more sense. Kaminsky is averaging 5.7 points and 3.8 rebounds per game in 12.9 minutes, so if this start leads to more minutes for the veteran, there could be some DFS appeal here. The question is if you're willing to risk that the late switch means that Kaminsky will play 20-plus minutes for just the third time this year.
Phoenix Suns center Frank Kaminsky (knee) has been cleared for basketball activities. "I'm ready to make a push towards playing again," Kaminsky said. It appears Kaminsky is fully healthy and ready to contribute in the Suns rotation. He was receiving decent playing time when Aron Baynes or Deandre Ayton were sidelined. However, it's unlikely that Kaminsky will hold reliable fantasy value while the Suns are healthy.
