Jarrett Culver News
Memphis Grizzlies shooting guard Jarrett Culver has been ruled out for Thursday's game against Golden State, having been placed in the league's COVID-19 health and safety protocols. Culver has appeared in just 12 games this season for Memphis, averaging 4.3 points while shooting 52.4 percent overall. Selected with the sixth overall pick in the 2019 NBA draft, Culver has struggled to carve out a niche across his first three professional seasons, keeping him off fantasy radars in all season-long formats. He will remain out indefinitely while in the league's protocols.
The Timberwolves sent Jarrett Culver to Memphis in exchange for Patrick Beverley, who was recently acquired from the Los Angeles Clippers just a few days ago. Juan Hernangomez was also included in the deal, freeing up money while adding to the team's young group of players. Culver, a sixth-overall pick in the 2019 NBA Draft, appeared in only 34 games last season due to injury, averaging a miserable 5.3 points and 3.1 rebounds. Although Culver's fantasy history hasn't been the best throughout his two years in the league, his outlook could change, especially if he remains healthy and receives an enhanced role in his new home. However, the 22-year-old isn't worth a roster spot in nearly every fantasy league outside of dynasty formats at the moment.
Minnesota Timberwolves shooting guard/small forward Jarrett Culver (toe) has been given the thumbs up to participate in Monday's contest against the Thunder. Culver returned from a five-game absence Friday to play 10 minutes off of the bench, accruing five points on 2-for-4 shooting. Despite the suspension of Malik Beasley and the absence of D'Angelo Russell (knee), Culver has still not cracked the rotation with regularity. Despite his status as a former lottery pick, Culver has not proven to be a fantasy-relevant commodity at this stage, as he remains safe to keep at an arm's length on the waiver wire for the time being.
Minnesota Timberwolves shooting guard/small forward Jarrett Culver (toe) has been listed as doubtful to suit up for Thursday's game against the Suns due to a strained toe. Head coach Chris Finch has been "hopeful" to get Culver back for the back-to-back matchup against the Suns, which could indicate that Culver may be around Friday. Culver has been on the floor for just three contests since Jan. 25, but with the T-Wolves at the bottom of the standings, his development would seemingly take precedent during the second half. Shooting just 22.9 percent from behind the arc, Culver will likely need to showcase some offensive development before he is added to the vast majority of rosters in season-long formats.
