Bruno Fernando News
The Atlanta Hawks have decided to pick up the 2023-2024 player option on center Bruno Fernando. The 24-year-old will make a little less than $2.6 million next season. The expectation is that Fernando will fill the role as the third center on the roster. That being said, it's unlikely that he gets much playing time unless something happens to Clint Capela. This appears to be mainly a depth move for Atlanta, so fantasy managers shouldn't expect Fernando to have fantasy value going into the season.
Houston Rockets center Bruno Fernando (illness) has been tagged as questionable ahead of the team's Thursday night contest against the San Antonio Spurs. The 24-year-old is dealing with a non-COVID illness right now which he must have picked up during the two-day break since their last game against the Philadelphia 76ers. Fernando just started to ramp up his minutes over the last few games, but his productivity hasn't been anything to write home about. He's only worth adding in very deep leagues if fantasy managers are desperate for rebounds and a couple of blocks.
Houston Rockets center Bruno Fernando (knee) won't be available for Saturday's game against Milwaukee. The 24-year-old big man left Friday's loss to Memphis early with left knee soreness and it appears that it's still bothering him. All the hype has been around Alperen Sengun, but Fernando has started the season as Houston's starting center and he looked very impressive in the season opener on Wednesday against Atlanta, bagging seven points with nine rebounds, seven assists and two blocks. He had to settle for just four points, four rebounds and two assists in 12 minutes Friday. Sengun saw extended minutes with Fernando unavailable and went off for 23 points, 12 rebounds and two blocks. He will look to repeat the performance Saturday night.
Atlanta Hawks center Bruno Fernando will be back in the rotation for Sundays contest against the New York Knicks, but will face a restriction of 15 minutes as he works his way back from a calf injury. Fernando had missed five of the Hawks six most recent outings, having lost his spot in the starting five to Damian Jones, while also seeing Clint Capela andDewayne Dedmon brought aboard at the Trade Deadline. Having averaged 12.3 minutes per contest this season, Fernandos minutes restriction shouldnt impede him drastically, but it does mean that owners can look elsewhere for the time being.
