Armoni Brooks News
Toronto Raptors guard Armoni Brooks has signed a two-year deal with the organization. He was in the middle of his second 10-day contract with Toronto. Clearly, the Raptors have seen enough to warrant keeping Brooks over the next two seasons. He is someone that can be left on the waiver wire right now. Brooks is a useful piece to the rotation, but doesn't bring enough to the table in fantasy formats. He should continue his role off the bench and play minutes in the teens or low 20s.
The Toronto Raptors have signed guard Armoni Brooks to a second 10-day contract. The 23-year-old debuted with the team on March 6 after signing a first 10-day contract. He played a total of 35 minutes over four games during the first contract. The most action he saw was on March 12 against the Denver Nuggets when he logged 22 minutes and compiled three points, four rebounds, two assists and two steals. After this new contract expires, the Raptors will either have to sign him for the rest of the 2021-22 season or allow him to go back into free agency.
The Houston Rockets will deploy the duo of Armoni Brooks and Josh Christopher as their starting backcourt for Monday's matchup vs. the Hornets. With both Jalen Green (rest) and Kevin Porter Jr. (thigh) active but not expected to play, Brooks and Christopher should be in line for a sizable increase in both minutes and offensive usage. Brooks has enjoyed a solid run in December, averaging seven three-point attempts per game despite having a fluctuating role. Christopher will be making just his second professional start, having logged 10 points and seven assists across 28 minutes in his first go-round. With Charlotte and Houston boasting the second and third-fastest pace of play in the league, respectively, DFS managers can hone in on what should be a scintillatingly paced matchup.
Houston Rockets guard Armoni Brooks (ankle) will be available for Monday's game against the Chicago Bulls. He was listed as questionable coming into this game, but it appears he'll be ready to go. The expectation is that he'll move back into the starting five for this game. That means, Josh Christopher will shift back to the bench, which is a shame because he has been playing well. Regardless, Christopher could have some deep league value off the bench, but isn't an ideal option anymore.
