Caleb Swanigan Departs Early Due To Injury

Sacramento Kings center Caleb Swanigan logged just two minutes of action during Tuesdays Summer League loss to the Miami Heat before departing due to a quad contusion. Swanigan is attempting to make the Kings roster ahead of the 2019-20 campaign, having arrived last season in a deal with Portland. The former collegiate All-American has appeared in 48 games over his first two years in the league, but averaged just 7.6 minutes per contest. Any kind of extended injury that would keep Swanigan sidelined would severely hamper his chances of beginning the year on Sacramentos roster.

Wenyen Gabriel Drops Dominating Double-Double In Win

Sacramento Kings power forward Wenyen Gabriel put on a show during Mondays Summer League opener against the Golden State Warriors, finishing with a game-high 22 points and 12 rebounds across 27 minutes. After going undrafted out of Kentucky in the 2018 NBA Draft and latching on with the Kings, Gabriel is looking to find his way into regular season action for the first time. Still just 22 years old, Gabriel boasts a high ceiling due to his athleticism, having also knocked down a pair of triples versus Golden State.

Harrison Barnes Agrees To Extension With Kings

Forward Harrison Barnes has agreed to a four-year deal to remain with the Sacramento Kings. Barnes joined the Kings in a mid-season trade from Dallas last year and in his 28 games with the team he averaged 14.3 points and 5.5 rebounds per game on 45.5 percent shooting. Barnes was asked to do less in Sacramento than in Dallas, allowing him to post more efficient lines while still increasing his rebound and assist totals. That same scenario looks to repeat itself in 2019-2020, with Barnes playing a complementary role on a young Kings team. Hes an intriguing fantasy option who can help out fantasy managers in a variety of areas, and if he can maintain something close to the 40.8 percent shooting from deep he had last year, hell be an important piece for the Kings, even if the contract feels like a bit of an overpay.

Marvin Bagley Closes Out Year With Strong Performance

Sacramento Kings power forward/center Marvin Bagley closed his rookie season with a 20-point, nine-rebound effort during Wednesdays loss to the Portland Trail Blazers. He ends the year having scored in double figures in 15 consecutive games, averaging 18.1 points and 8.9 rebounds per game in that stretch. Bagley figures to be a major force for the Kings in 2019-20, irrespective of his placement amongst the starting five.

De'Aaron Fox Notches 17 Points In 17 Minutes

Sacramento Kings point guard De'Aaron Fox finished his season with a 17-point, nine-assist outing during Wednesdays loss to the Portland Trail Blazers. Fox shot 8-for-10 from the floor across his 17 minutes, capping off a year in which he started 81 games and averaged 17.3 points and 7.3 assists per contest. Sacramentos point guard of the future looks to be in line for early-round consideration in season-long formats next season, regardless of whom he has suited up alongside him or as a head coach.
