Toronto Raptors shooting guard/small forward Norman Powell just can't seem to catch a break as he exited Monday's game against the Jazz just two minutes into the contest with an ankle injury. Powell collided with teammate OG Anunoby and was helped back to the locker room. Powell had been on a tear as of late and was named Eastern Conference Player Of The Week after averaging 31.3 points last week. The Raptors do not play again until Saturday, so owners can hope that Powell's injury is not too serious. If he does miss some time, the minutes could go directly to Fred Vanvleet (shoulder) who could return for Saturday's tilt against the Pistons.
Toronto Raptors forward Pascal Siakam was just two assists shy of a triple-double on Monday when he scored 27 points and grabbed 11 rebounds with eight assists in the nine-point win over Utah. Siakam connected on 9-for-18 shooting from the floor and made all seven of his attempts at the line while connecting on two makes from three in 39 minutes of action. Siakam's shooting in March (just 41.1%) has slightly hindered his value as of late, but the fact that he made half of his attempts in this one is a positive sign. The Raptors only play one more time this week and it is on Saturday against the Pistons.
Toronto Raptors power forward/center Serge Ibaka did it all on Monday, and it was against arguably the best defensive center in the league inRudy Gobert. Ibaka connected on 9-for-17 shooting en route to 27 points and hauled in 13 rebounds. He did not stop there, as he added three assists with five makes from three and was a team-high plus-28 in his 37 minutes of action. Ibaka did commit four turnovers and actually did not record any defensive numbers. Ibaka has been incredible this season, but with Marc Gasol back in action, we could see a slight decrease in his production going forward.
Toronto Raptors center Marc Gasol (hamstring) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Sacramento Kings. He has missed each of the last 15 games due to left hamstring tightness. There's a good chance that Gasol would be limited if he does suit up for this game. Serge Ibaka, Rondae Hollis-Jefferson and Chris Boucher would see reduced playing time if Gasol returns here. Otherwise, Ibaka will benefit the most without Gasol on the court.
Toronto Raptors guard Fred Vanvleet (shoulder) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Sacramento Kings. He has missed each of the last four games due to left shoulder soreness. Norman Powell has been benefiting the most with Vanvleet sidelined and he'll be a solid target for DFS contests if Vanvleet is out again here. The Raptors are likely going to wait until closer to tip-off before making a final decision.
