Danny Woodhead News
The Baltimore Ravens are releasing running back Danny Woodhead for salary cap reasons, according to a source. A solid PPR threat when healthy, the pint-sized Woodhead just can't stay on the field in recent seasons, and he's played in just 10 games the last two years. He should be able to latch on somewhere on a short deal, but he'll have to rehabilitate his fantasy image before owners will take the leap on him again.
Baltimore Ravens running back Danny Woodhead is seen as a potential cap cut, according to the Baltimore Sun's Jeff Zrebiec. The Ravens are short on cap space heading into the offseason, making it likely they shed a few veteran contracts. Woodhead is a logical choice coming off a season in which he managed only eight games and was not a big part of the offense even when on the field. Baltimore also has a logjam in the backfield with Alex Collins establishing himself as a No. 1 option and Kenneth Dixon set to return. Cutting Woodhead will save Baltimore $1.8 million against the cap.
Baltimore Ravens running back Danny Woodhead rushed once for three yards to go with four receptions for 16 yards in Week 17. He started out the season looking good with three catches early in Week 1 but got injured in that first game. He missed a good portion of the season and wasn't much of a fantasy factor after he returned. Beware investing too heavily in him for 2018 until he shows he is back to being a productive player.
