  • Randall Cobb Scores Touchdown in Week 17

Green Bay wide receiver Randall Cobb led all Green Bay players in targets in a Week 17 matchup against Detroit with six. He caught four passes for 45 yards and scored Green Bay's only touchdown on the day. With a multitude of injuries at the wide receiver position this week, Cobb was the clear cut primary receiving option for Green Bay on Sunday. However, the primary receiving option for a struggling Brett Hundley still isn't a great position to be in. Cobb had a highly variable 2017. Despite a handful of useful weeks, inconsistency made Cobb a difficult to player to trust. His status in Green Bay for 2018 is very much up the air. Cobb has been underperforming his contract that will carry a $13 million cap hit next year, so Green Bay is almost certainly either going to cut Cobb or find a way to restructure his contract. A change of scenery could be good for Cobb, who is still an explosive playmaker. It will be difficult to make any predictions about Cobb for 2018 because his production will be so heavily situation dependent.

  • Randall Cobb Looks to Capitalize on Opportunities in Week 17

For the second straight week, Green Bay Packers wide receiver Randall Cobb may be the No. 1 receiving option in Green Bay. Wide receivers Jordy Nelson and Davante Adams seem likely to miss the Week 17 matchup against Detroit, leaving Cobb as the top option this Sunday. Cobb failed to make much of the opportunity last week against a tough Minnesota defense. He has a better outlook this week against a more vulnerable Lions unit. Cobb will have a hard time having a big game with a struggling Brett Hundley under center, but Cobb still has the ability to make plays after the catch. Cobb is a high-variability wide receiver who should be avoided in most circumstances.

  • Randall Cobb A Flex Play for Week 16

Green Bay wide receiver Randall Cobb finds himself in an interesting position in Week 16. For the first time in a while, Cobb will be one of Green Bay's top receiving options this Saturday against Minnesota. The normal top receiving option, Davante Adams, is out with a concussion. Additionally, quarterback Brett Hundley is back under center this week, and he has had a terrible connection with Jordy Nelson. That leaves Cobb as the top guy in Green Bay. Cobb has been pretty quiet at times this season, but his great ability to make plays after the catch has led to a few productive outings. Despite being favored to lead the team in targets this Saturday, Cobb will have trouble being productive with Hundley throwing the ball. Additionally, Minnesota has a great defense that will likely keep the entire Green Bay offense in check. Cobb should probably be avoided, but he is a highly variable player, which makes him a moderately attractive flex option for any team that may be a heavy underdog going into championship weekend.
