  • Kirk Cousins Is a Low End QB1 In Week 15

Washington Redskins quarterback Kirk Cousins gets a good matchup against an Arizona Cardinals team allowing the seventh most fantasy points to opposing QBs, but is coming off one of his worst performances of the season as he has been trending downward over the past four weeks. Still, there are a few things working in Kirk's favor. The Cardinals have allowed two or more total TDs to seven of the last nine QBs they have faced, excluding only CJ Beathard and Marcus Mariota, and are themselves playing without their top two quarterbacks and their top two running backs in a lost season. On the offensive line, the Redskins also figure to be as healthy as they have been in the last month, with center Chase Roullier looking to make his return from a three-game absence and tackles Morgan Moses and Trent Williams once again likely to suit up. At home against a West coast opponent, we like the Redskins chances of rebounding to put together a nice game on offense and, while you can get away from starting Cousins, be sure that you have a legit QB1 option if you're going to do so.

  • Kirk Cousins Falls Flat In Embarrassing Loss

Washington Redskins quarterback Kirk Cousins completed just 15 of 27 passes for 151 yards, one touchdown and one interception. It was a tough spot for the entire Redskins offense as they traveled across the country to face a hungry Chargers team playing their best football. Safety DJ Swearinger candidly stated that the Redskins didn't display any urgency in practice during the week with their season essentially over and tackle Trent Williams called for the team to 'find a way to play with pride' down the stretch. We don't doubt Cousins's ability as a quarterback, but with a team that is out of contention and falling apart around him, there is reason to be skeptical that he can continue to be a legit QB1 for the remainder of the season. A Week 15 matchup against the reeling Arizona Cardinals does represent a potential get right spot for Cousins and company, but it's hard to argue that Cousins hasn't been passed by such QBs as Case Keenum, Blake Bortles, and Jared Goff in rest of season viability.

  • Kirk Cousins Only a Low End QB1 for Week 14

Washington Redskins quarterback Kirk Cousins should probably be approached with caution with starting tackles Trent Williams and Morgan Moses looking questionable at best for Sunday's matchup at the Los Angeles Chargers. Cousins's play has fluctuated pretty consistently with the health of his offensive line and this Sunday is shaping up to be a day in which that unit will be shorthanded. Cousins has been sacked 10 times over his last two games and at least four times in five of his last seven. The Chargers' tough pass rush, led by Joey Bosa and Melvin Ingram could give Cousins all he can handle as they are very much alive in the race for the AFC West division title. Cousins remains in the QB1 conversation, but reasonable alternatives can be considered.
