  • Travis Kelce Active in Return to Practice, Kicker Cairo Santos Still Out

Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce returned to practice on Sunday, and was reportedly, "making plays all over the field." After logging a full session, Kelce said that he is 100% and feeling great. Not only is it a good sign regarding his injury status to see Kelce so active in his return, but it also bodes well for his fantasy value, as he looks to improve on a stellar 2016 season. If healthy, Kelce should easily return TE1 value as one of top two receiving options in the Chiefs passing attack that will be looking to stretch the field this season. In additional injury notes for the team, place kicker Cairo Santos who has been dealing with groin soreness for the past week still hasn't returned to practice and was held out of Friday's preseason game against the 49ers, but head coach Andy Reid still believes he will be ready for the start of the season.

  • Travis Kelce Likely to Return to Practice This Week

Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce did not suit up for the team's first preseason game against the San Francisco 49ers on Friday night, but head coach Andy Reid believes the star player should be returning sometime this week. Kelce has been dealing with swelling in his surgically repaired knee, but at this point in the preseason there is no need to rush him back until he is 100%. The Chiefs will resume the last portion of training camp on Sunday, and Kelce's participation should be monitored, but all signs point to him getting back in action soon and making an appearance at some point in one of the team's preseason games.

  • Travis Kelce Misses Another Practice to Start the Week

Even though Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce missed his fourth practice on Monday with knee swelling, no one in the organization seems to be overly concerned about his absence. Head coach Andy Reid noted last week that Kelce has these flare-ups from time to time, and that ultimately he will be fine. This is the same knee that Kelce had surgically repaired two seasons ago, but at this point in the preseason there is no reason the Chiefs wouldn't let Kelce get all of the rest that he needs. As of right now, there still isn't much cause for concern, but keep an eye on the situation to see if it continues to linger as the season draws nearer. Demetrius Harris and Ross Travis have been the beneficiaries of Kelce's abscence and have split the majority of the first-team reps, with former Cowboys TE Gavin Escobar mixing in as well. Despite the mild injury concern, Kelce should be the second tight end off the board behind Rob Gronkowski.
