  • Sammy Watkins Performs Then Gets Injured

Los Angeles Rams star wide receiver Sammy Watkins had been held quiet through the first two weeks of the season with his new team, but against SF on Thursday night, he got a chance to shine. Watkins hauled in six of the seven balls thrown his way for 102 yards and two touchdowns, but as is tradition, he was injured late in the game. Watkins took a hard hit while scoring the second touchdown, and he was escorted to the locker room in the fourth quarter. After the game, the team told reporters that Watkins was entering concussion protocol. Watkins has a long injury history, and concussions are always scary injuries. Expect updates from the team early next week on Watkins availability in Week 4.

  • Sammy Watkins Being Evaluated For Concussion

Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Sammy Watkins had a huge game -- six catches, 106 yards and two touchdowns -- but he was taken out of the game and was being evaluated for a concussion after his second touchdown catch. It was easily Watkins' best game with the Rams so far, so it'd be a shame for him to have to miss any time. The good news is that LA will have a long layoff before their Week 4 game, so Watkins has a good chance of recovering in the meantime. If he can't, Robert Woods and rookie Cooper Kupp will see their stock rise. Woods finished with six catches and a team-high 108 yards in Thursday's win over the Niners and would become the No. 1 wideout if Watkins is sidelined.

  • Sammy Watkins Kept Quiet By Washington

Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Sammy Watkins was one of the biggest acquisitions during the offseason, but so far, he's been managed pretty well by opposing defenses. In Week 1, his mediocre performance was more due to the massive lead LA quickly got, but in Week 2, cornerback Josh Norman played a large role in keeping Watkins from breaking free. Norman didn't shadow Watkins completely, but he was often present in Watkins' area, and a mix of that and Jared Goff's struggles held Watkins to just two catches in Sunday's game. As his comfort level with Goff grows, expect Watkins to see more action.
