  • Jarvis Landry Signs Huge Extension With Browns

The Cleveland Browns and wide receiver Jarvis Landry have agreed on a huge contract extension a little over a month after he was acquired from the Miami Dolphins in a trade. The deal will be for five years and $75.5 million, with a massive $47 million guaranteed. Landry has proven his worth as a reliable slot receiver but a crowded Cleveland pass-catching corps may make it hard for him to repeat the sheer number of targets he used to see in Miami. Landry will begin the 2018 season as the fifth highest paid receiver in the NFL. Odell Beckham Jr. and Brandin Cooks, both of whom are entering the last year of their rookie deals, have to be licking their chops at the prospect of their upcoming pay days.

  • Jarvis Landry Could Play Under Franchise Tag

Cleveland Browns wide receiver Jarvis Landry and his new team have not included a long-term extension as part of the trade, and he could play out the 2018 season on the one-year franchise tag. The two sides will likely discuss an extension, but it's not a guarantee it will happen. Landry could choose to play out 2018 on the one-year deal and see how he fits in with his new offense. Landry set a career high in touchdowns last year while leading the NFL in receptions, but it remains to be seen how he'll fit in Cleveland. At worst, quarterback Tyrod Taylor will be throwing him passes, which isn't a bad thing, but Cleveland also has Josh Gordon and Corey Coleman in the passing game. Landry should still be seen as a WR1 in PPR leagues as of now, but his production could obviously suffer.

  • Jarvis Landry Traded To Browns

Miami Dolphins wide receiver Jarvis Landry will be traded to the Cleveland Browns, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN. Schefter reports that the Browns will acquire Landry for two draft picks, trading from the surplus that they have for the 2018 draft. This will give Cleveland two potentially elite receivers, as they will add Landry to a receiver group that already has Josh Gordon. Considering that the Browns have two high draft picks (first and fourth overall), this probably means that they will be selecting a franchise quarterback with one of those picks. Depending on the quarterback, Landry may be a first-round pick in fantasy leagues. The loser of this trade will be receiver Corey Coleman.
