Jeremy Hill News
New England Patriots running back Jeremy Hill (knee) tore his ACL in Week 1 against the Texans and will miss the rest of the season, according to a source. Hill was expected to fill the short-yardage/goal-line role for the team this season, but that obviously won't happen now. Hill wasn't much of a fantasy option with few touches expected per week. Rookie Sony Michel (knee), who was inactive in the season opener, should eventually serve as the No. 3 back behind Rex Burkhead and James White.
New England Patriots running back Jeremy Hill exited Sundays game against the Texans after injuring his knee in the third quarter. Hill went to the medical tent and then walked to the locker room soon after. With fellow running back Sony Michel already out the Patriots are down to just Rex Burkhead and James White in the backfield. While Burkhead is the starter, White is more of a threat in the passing game, already catching a touchdown earlier today.
New England Patriots running back Jeremy Hill is excited to have made the final Patriots roster heading into the season. He told Zack Cox of NESN, "We're all blessed, and we're all privileged to be here. So we're definitely excited, the guys who did make the cut." Now that the former 1,000-yard rusher has made the team, he may have a larger role to begin the season than first envisioned. Rookie running back Sony Michel is still working his way back from injury and Rex Burkhead is nursing a knee injury. This opens the door for players like Hill and James White to see some snaps heading into Week 1. Hill is not fantasy viable at this time but could get some early run in the Patriots offense.
