  • Taylor Gabriel Is A Solid Flex For Week 2

In Week 1 on the road versus the Chicago Bears, Taylor Gabriel was only targeted four times, three of which he managed to convert into receptions for a total of 36 receiving yards and zero touchdowns. Gabriel and the Atlanta Falcons' offense as a whole seemed sluggish, only managing to convert one out of three red zone opportunities, and being held to just 23 points by a defense that floundered throughout most of the 2016 season. The Falcons will be at home in Week 2 taking on the Green Bay Packers in a matchup that has proven to be a fantasy boon for both teams' offensive players in recent years. In their 2016 regular season matchup, Gabriel converted all three of his target into 68 yards and one touchdown. Expect the talented receiver to get a solid opportunity to produce this week, making him a low floor/high ceiling flex option for Week 2.

  • Taylor Gabriel Has Poor Week 1

In Sunday's match versus the Chicago Bears, Taylor Gabriel was targeted four times in the passing game. He was able to convert three of those targets into catches for 36 receiving yards, but didn't manage to find the end zone. Gabriel's four targets was fourth among six targeted Atlanta Falcons receivers and it showed in his fantasy production. Gabriel's production should increase next week as the Atlanta Falcons host the Green Bay Packers in what has become a shootout in recent years. In Week 5 of the 2016 season, Gabriel caught three passes for 65 yards and a touchdown versus the Packers, and is always a threat to break open a big play.

  • Taylor Gabriel a Solid Week 1 Flex

Sunday's matchup on the road versus the Chicago Bears should prove to be an interesting one for Taylor Gabriel. Gabriel is a unique player. While he is listed as the number three receiver behind Julio Jones and Mohammed Sanu, Gabriel does most of his work as a deep threat. While Jones will command a good deal of the Bears' defensive attention, the absence of Prince Amukamara bodes well for Gabriel, who will most likely spend a lot of time lining up opposite the largely underwhelming Kyle Fuller. Fuller, who listed a 2014 combine 40-yard dash speed of 4.49 may have the speed to avoid being burned by Gabriel, but has under performed thus far in his career and due to the presence of Jones, Fuller won't have much help from the safeties. If Fuller doesn't have the savvy to do what many defensive backs failed to do in the 2016 season, it could be a very productive day for Gabriel. There's not a lot of downside to Gabriel this week, which makes him a solid flex play with a low floor but a very high ceiling.
