  • Taylor Gabriel To Join Bears On Four-Year Deal

ESPN's Adam Shefter has reported that the Chicago Bears will sign free-agent wide receiver Taylor Gabriel to a four-year contract. Gabriel enjoyed an excellent 2016 season, averaging 16.5 yards per catch and bringing in a team-high six touchdowns. Gabriel's speed was a huge factor in what made the Falcons a historically fantastic offense, and he can take the top off of a defense. But Gabriel struggled at times last season with a foot injury and never really meshed in a new offensive system after offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan left for the 49ers. The Bears have made quite a splash in the opening moments of free agency, and Gabriel will have every opportunity to continue to grow in new head coach Matt Nagy's offense. Gabriel last season caught 33 passes for 378 yards and only one touchdown.

  • Taylor Gabriel Says Farewell To Atlanta

Atlanta Falcons impending free-agent wide receiver Taylor Gabriel tweeted a farewell to Atlanta and is obviously not expecting to be back with the team in 2018. The 27-year-old Gabriel broke out for 35 catches, 579 yards and a career-high six scores in 2016, but he disappointed with just 378 yards and one touchdown on 33 catches in 2017. He has home run potential on any given play, but he's more of a gadget player that is highly inconsistent for fantasy purposes.

  • Taylor Gabriel, Devonta Freeman, Julio Jones Not On Injury Report

Atlanta Falcons running back Devonta Freeman (knee) and wide receivers Julio Jones (ankle, ribs) and Taylor Gabriel (hamstring) were all not on the final injury report leading into Saturday's game with the Rams. Head coach Dan Quinn said that Freeman worked without limitations on Thursday, so this was not a shock. Gabriel was limited this week in practice, but it was never likely he would sit out a playoff game. Gabriel has not caught more than three passes since Week 6. As for Jones, he has played through a variety of injuries this year, though he still finished second in the league with 1,444 receiving yards. He will be one of the top DFS plays at wide receiver this week despite a challenging road matchup against the NFC West champs.
