  • Jerick McKinnon Lone Bright Spot In Loss

Minnesota Vikings running back Jerick McKinnon racked up 126 yards from scrimmage as the Vikings were blown out by the Eagles 38-7 in the NFC Championship Game. McKinnon led the team with 10 carries for 40 yards and also led all Vikings players with 11 catches for 86 yards. The Eagles were determined to take away some of the Vikings downfield passing options, leaving McKinnon open for some check-down passes. McKinnon will be a free agent and the Vikings expect rookie standout Dalvin Cook to return next season from a torn ACL. They also have Latavius Murray in the mix, making the versatile McKinnon a possible intriguing option for other teams. McKinnon may not have the talent to be an elite starter in this league, but in the right situation, he could raise his fantasy value this offseason.

  • Jerick McKinnon Prefers Lead-Back Role

Minnesota Vikings impending free-agent running back Jerick McKinnon said he would ideally like to go somewhere where he can be the featured running back. "I want bigger and better things for myself. We'll see what happens," McKinnon said. It makes sense considering McKinnon set career highs in rushing yardage (570), rushing touchdowns (three), receptions (51) and receiving yardage (421). With Dalvin Cook (knee) likely to return as the lead back in Minnesota, that means McKinnon will probably have to look elsewhere in order to be a lead ball carrier. He should be in high demand due to his versatility out of the backfield.

  • Jerick McKinnon Has Sleeper Upside For Championship Weekend

Minnesota Vikings running back Jerick McKinnon will look to make it two straight playoff games with a touchdown when the Vikings take on the Eagles in the NFC Championship game. McKinnon punched in a 14-yard score last week against the Saints but will go up against an Eagles defense that has allowed the second fewest fantasy points to opposing backs this season. McKinnon is the de facto backup to Latavius Murray, but McKinnon presents more athletic value in the passing game. While the Eagles will try and shut down the Vikings running game, McKinnon could see some opportunities to make some plays in the screen game. The Eagles have allowed only three rushing touchdowns since Week 4 of the regular season, which means the Vikings will have to get creative in the red zone. McKinnon's name is flying under the radar in preparation for championship weekend, and he could certainly provide some fantasy value at a cheap price.
