  • Devonta Freeman Could Be Ready For OTAs

Atlanta Falcons running back Devonta Freeman (knee) said he's doing well after dealing with MCL and PCL injuries at the end of the season. He recently received a second opinion on his knee, and he isn't expected to need surgery before the start of the next season. Freeman thinks there's a chance he'll be ready for the start of the offseason program, too. "But I'm going to take my time and let it heal so I won't have to deal with little knicks and knacks throughout the season, because that's the most important time for me. So I'm going to take my time and let it heal, get stronger. I need to be free when I'm out there," Freeman said. Expect the Falcons to play it cautious with their starting running back during organized team activities. Barring any setbacks, Freeman should once again be an RB1 in 2018, even with Tevin Coleman splitting repetitions.

  • Devonta Freeman Will Not Need Surgery

Atlanta Falcons running back Devonta Freeman (knee) does not require surgery. Freeman finished the season playing through MCL and PCL sprains. Including the postseason, he averaged just 2.64 yards per carry over his final four games. Freeman should be ready to rock for the offseason program.

  • Devonta Freeman Played Through Injury At The End Of The Season

Atlanta Falcons running back Devonta FreemanĀ (knee) revealed that he played the end of the season with sprains to both his MCL and PCL. Freeman clearly lacked explosiveness in Atlanta's playoff loss to Philadelphia, and he was limited in practices leading up to both the Wild-Card and Divisional Rounds. "I hope I don't have to," Freeman said of the possibility of undergoing offseason surgery. We suspect Freeman will be all systems go for organized team activities in the offseason.
