  • David Johnson Back To Full Strength

Arizona Cardinals running back David Johnson (wrist) is back to 100 percent health. Johnson is finally healthy after his injury cost him all but one game and 17 touches. It will be an offseason of change for Johnson, who must adjust to a new coach and is headed into the final year of his rookie contract. Although former Bruce Arians relied on three-down bellcows to an unusual degree, whomever replaces Arians will do the same with Johnson. Johnson turned 26 in December.

  • David Johnson, Carson Palmer Not Expected To Return

Arizona Cardinals head coach Bruce Arians said none of the team's Injured Reserve players, including running back David Johnson (wrist) and quarterback Carson Palmer (arm) have made much progress in their rehab, and none of them are expected to return this year. It was always a long shot that both Johnson and Palmer would return this year, and they should both be left to the waiver wire in redraft leagues. Palmer could ultimately decide to retire this offseason. Adrian Peterson continues to be Arizona's workhorse back and is a solid RB2 due to heavy volume. Blaine Gabbert is starting in Week 12 under center and is a low-end QB2.

  • David Johnson Making Progress But Can't Predict Return

Cardinals running back David Johnson's cast on his wrist is off, but he still has a long road of recovery ahead of him and does not know if he will return this season. Given the uncertainty, Johnson projects as a late season lottery ticket at best given both the presence of fellow running back Adrian Peterson and the tough timetable for recovery that Johnson has in front of him. Keep Johnson on your radars; he should be picked up in every league he is available, even if its only for a chance at his upside during the fantasy playoffs.
