  • Carson Wentz Has Started to Run

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz (knee) said he is very encouraged by how his rehab process is going and told reporters he has advanced to the running portion. With everything seeming like it is on schedule, Wentz is still expected to be ready for Week 1. He won't participate in any offseason activity and certainly won't appear in the preseason, but as long as he experiences no setbacks, he should be under center for the first real snap of 2018. If he does experience a setback, the Eagles have Super Bowl MVP Nick Foles to fall back on.

  • Eagles Coaches Hoping Carson Wentz Will Do a Better Job Protecting Himself

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz has said he has no plans to change his style of aggressive football, but his head coach Doug Pederson said he hopes his quarterback will reconsider. Pederson said, "Longevity is everything in this business," and added that he wants Wentz to, "Learn from Tom Brady, who got hurt early in his career. And learn from guys that have done that and yet still went on to have great careers and long careers." Eagles coaches say they have spoken to Wentz about being more careful in the past, but Wentz has not made any indication that he'd be willing to change his game. He'll likely continue to scramble when needed, but might pick his spots a bit more carefully.

  • Carson Wentz Won't Participate in the Offseason Program

Philadelphia Eagles head coach Doug Pederson said that quarterback Carson Wentz (knee) will not participate in the offseason program. Wentz is of course recovering from an ACL tear but has been making good progress. Pederson said he's encouraged by Wentz's progress, and the team is "confident" that Wentz will be ready to go for Week 1. He still has a long way to go, but unless he experiences any setbacks, he should be good to go when the season begins.
