  • Ezekiel Elliott's Appeal Date Expected to be on Aug. 29

ESPN Insider Adam Schefter reports that "per the language in the [Collective Bargaining Agreement]" Dallas Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott will have his appeal held on August 29. Elliott is appealing a six-game suspension handed down from the NFL based on several off field incidents. As of now, Elliott is suspended for the first six games of the season. With Dallas having an early bye week, Elliott's first game would be in Week 8 if he starts the season serving the suspension. With a lengthy appeal process possible combined with the NFL's usual feet-dragging, this saga is long from over. There's a chance "Zeke" plays every game this season while the appeal drags on and on into the next offseason. It's a tough spot for fantasy owners, but for now the safe bet is to assume Elliott will be out until Week 8.

  • Ezekiel Elliott Officially Appeals His Suspension

Dallas Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott has officially appealed his six-game suspension. According to NFL rules, a hearing must be scheduled within the next 10 days, but according to NFL recent history, this could take a while. There's a chance this drags on long enough to allow Elliott to play in all 16 games this season, but the league may also decide not to sit on its metaphorical hands and actually get this appeal done. Either way, it's impossible to know how this might affect Elliott's value. He's an easy RB1 when he's on the field, but there remains an overwhelming possibility that he misses six games due to the suspension.

  • NFL Investigation Into Most Recent Ezekiel Elliott Incident Is Closed

The NFL's investigation into yet another off-field incident by Dallas Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott's has officially been closed. Elliott received a six-game suspension stemming from a domestic violence incident and was informed that any additional violations of the league's personal conduct policy could result in further suspensions or "potential banishment" from the league. Given the ominous wording used by the NFL, it's very important to know that the league has already investigated the incident that occurred in a Dallas-area nightclub where Elliott allegedly punched a DJ and broke his nose. The alleged victim could never be located, and no footage of the incident was ever found. If the victim or recorded evidence were to arise, "Zeke" could find himself in more trouble, for now though, he seems to have escaped with just the six game suspension.
