  • Mitch Trubisky Dazzles In Debut

Mitch Trubisky had an excellent NFL debut, completing 18 of 25 passes for 166 yards and a touchdown in the first preseason game of the season. Trubisky also rushed for 38 yards and completed his first eight pass attempts. The Bears brought him in with less than two minutes to play in the first half and he immediately led the offense down the field for a score. The drive was punctuated with Trubisky quickly moving to his left and finding wide receiver Victor Cruz for a 2-yard touchdown catch. The second half flashed more of his potential, frequently using bootlegs to highlight Trubisky's ability to throw on the move accurately. Trubisky did a little bit of everything against the Broncos second/third string defenses and even had an opportunity to tie the game with seconds remaining with the Bears in the red zone. Bears fans are overjoyed at the performance but fantasy owners need a little perspective. Trubisky will have to duplicate this production at least two more times before coach John Fox even begins to consider making him the Week 1 starter. But for now, Trubisky gave glimpses of a talented future.

  • Mitch Trubisky To Get Plenty Of Snaps Thursday

The Bears will begin their preseason schedule Thursday night against the Denver Broncos and rookie quarterback Mitch Trubisky should see plenty of snaps, per chicagobears.com. Trubisky is currently listed as the number three quarterback on the depth chart heading into the game behind Mark Sanchez and starter Mike Glennon. Expect Glennon to play a maximum of two series, Sanchez to play the rest of the first half and then perhaps Trubisky the entire second half. The Bears do not have any other quarterbacks in camp so the number two pick in the 2017 NFL draft will give Bears fans and dynasty fantasy owners all the reason in the world to tune in on Thursday night.

  • Mitch Trubisky Will Compete For Starting Role

Rookie quarterback Mitch Trubisky will come into the first preseason game on August 10th slotted behind Mark Sanchez and starter Mike Glennon on the Bears depth chart. But according to John 'Moon' Mullin of CSN Chicago, he would not be shocked if Trubisky won the starting job by the end of preseason. "You see them along side each other, you seem them trading off the reps and so forth. Trubisky's got the 'it' factor," said Mullin. "I've seen a lot of quarterbacks and this kid's got something to him. You don't see that with Glennon." The chances of Trubisky starting the season are slim but there's a more than decent shot that Trubisky will see the field at some point this season. Rookie quarterbacks are hard to plug in and play in fantasy but some flashes of potential makes Trubisky an interesting dynasty/keeper-QB moving forward.
