  • Evan Engram Sits Out Again

New York Giants rookie tight end Evan Engram (ribs) missed practice for the second straight day Thursday. With the Giants playing a meaningless Week 17 game against the Redskins, it looks like both Engram and receiver Sterling Shepard (neck) will rest. If Engram does sit, it'll end a promising rookie season in which he was one of the best overall tight ends for fantasy and real-life purposes. You are stoked if you own him in a dynasty league. Without Shepard or Engram and with Tavarres King (concussion) looking unlikely to play, Roger Lewis would likely be the No. 1 receiver and worthy of flex consideration in the deepest of leagues.

  • Evan Engram Dealing With Bruised Ribs

New York Giants tight end Evan EngramĀ (ribs) escaped Week 16 with bruised ribs, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network. Engram's status for the Week 17 finale remains in question, but X-rays on his ribs were negative after he had to leave following one catch against the Cardinals. Rhett Ellison would be next up at tight end versus the Redskins. You'll have to keep a close eye on Engram's practice status this week. However, with a meaningless Week 17 game, it's entirely possible that the Giants keep their promising young tight end out.

  • Sterling Shepard, Evan Engram Injured In Week 16

New York Giants wide receiver Sterling Shepard (neck) and tight end Evan Engram (ribs) both suffered injuries in the Week 16 loss to the Cardinals and were ruled out. Shepard was able to manage five catches for 45 yards before his injury, but Engram caught only one pass for 12 yards before his injury. Both players are quarterback Eli Manning's best options in the passing game to close out the season, but they may both be shut down with only one game remaining. Engram, a rookie, was one of the more consistent and productive fantasy tight end options in 2017. If both players sit out in Week 17, nobody on the Giants will be worth trusting, but Roger Lewis and Travis Rudolph would be the team's top receivers.
