D'Onta Foreman News
Free-agent running back D'Onta Foreman is signing an undisclosed deal with the Cleveland Browns on Wednesday, according to sources. Foreman has played for three different teams -- the Tennessee Titans, Carolina Panthers and Chicago Bears -- in each of the last three seasons. The 27-year-old former third-round pick of the Houston Texans in 2017 out of Texas filled a complementary role with the Bears in 2023 and had 109 carries for 425 yards (3.9 yards per attempt) and four touchdowns while adding 11 receptions for 77 yards and another score in nine games (eight starts). He could mix in more with Jerome Ford early in 2024 in Cleveland if Nick Chubb (knee) is eased in, but at best, Foreman will likely be an RB4/5 type in fantasy.
Chicago Bears running back D'Onta Foreman (coach's decision) is a healthy scratch for Week 17 versus the Atlanta Falcons. The veteran missed last Sunday's game due to a personal matter but returned to practice in a full capacity this week. In the end, though, he'll remain sidelined with Khalil Herbert, Roschon Johnson, and Travis Homer active at the running back position. Look for Herbert, who had 121 scrimmage yards last Sunday, to operate as Chicago's lead back while ranking as a low-end fantasy RB2.
Chicago Bears running back D'Onta Foreman missed Week 16 due to personal reasons, but he logged a full practice on Wednesday and appears all set to return in Week 17. Khalil Herbert acted as the lead back in Week 16 and thrived, rushing for over 100 yards. Foreman has been the preferred back when the room is healthy, and he will likely slot back into the early-down rusher role in Week 17. While the veteran running back is unlikely to see a workload similar to other weeks this year where he saw at least 15 touches, he should see 10-12 opportunities, including some near the goal line. The Bears take on the Falcons in Week 17, who allow the second-fewest points per game to running backs this season. The Bears' backfield is likely better to avoid entirely due to their committee approach, especially ahead of a tough Week 17 matchup.
