Jason Croom News
Philadelphia Eagles tight end Jason Croom (knee), who was carted off early in the preseason game against the New England Patriots on Thursday, is feared to have suffered a season-ending knee injury, according to a source. Croom is undergoing an MRI exam to confirm. The 27-year-old played in just four games for the Eagles last season and caught his only target for a three-yard touchdown, but this is a hit to Philly's tight end depth with the regular season quickly approaching. Although Zach Ertz remains on the roster, Dallas Goedert is the tight end to own in Philadelphia in 2021. Goedert was on pace to finish as a top-10 fantasy tight end in 2020, if not for his injury, and he has the potential to return value as a low-end TE1 if Ertz eventually leaves town.
Philadelphia Eagles tight end Jason Croom, signed off the practice squad this week, caught his only target in Week 6 for a three-yard touchdown. Croom played 15 games for the Buffalo Bills in 2018 before spending all of 2019 on IR after getting hurt in the preseason. He was the top pass-catching tight end in Buffalo in 2018 and has a tiny sparkle of upside if he takes over for Richard Rodgers as the passing game option at tight end behind Zach Ertz. For now, Croom is worth a thought in deep two-tight end leagues, but certainly isn't close to starting value yet.
The Buffalo Bills re-signed tight end Jason Croom to a one-year deal on Saturday. Financial terms of the deal weren't disclosed. Croom spent all of the 2019 season on Injured Reserve after he lead the team's tight ends in 2018 in catches (22) and yards (259) as a rookie. He'll be a valuable depth option at the position for Buffalo in 2020 behind Dawson Knox, Tyler Kroft, Lee Smith and Tommy Sweeney. You can ignore him for fantasy purposes.
