  • Uncertainty Surrounding Aaron Rodgers Heading into Week 3

Normally Aaron Rodgers would be an elite option when going up against a team like Cincinnati. However, the number of question marks surrounding Green Bay's offense lowers Aaron Rodgers ceiling. Green Bay is likely to be missing left tackle David Bakhtiari and wide receiver Randall Cobb. Additionally they could be without right tackle Bryan Bulaga and Jordy Nelson. With the third string tackle and backup guard also missing, Rodgers could walk into Week 3's game surrounded by replacement and sub replacement level players. Aaron Rodgers will maintain a pretty high floor, so he is still a very good fantasy option, but if he has to rely on Geronimo Allison and Trevor Davis as receivers while having little to no time in the pocket it could be a long day. Keep an eye on who suits up for Green Bay this weekend, as that could be the difference between Rodgers being an elite option to merely being pretty good.

  • Aaron Rodgers Has Respectable but Underwhelming Week 2; He Should Bounce Back

Aaron Rodgers threw for 343 yards with two touchdowns and an interception in a Week 2 loss to Atlanta. Green Bay played from behind for most of the game, resulting in Rodgers airing it out and attempting 50 passes. While this production isn't disastrous, it certainly isn't what many fantasy owners were hoping for when they selected him early in their drafts. It is the second consecutive week that Rodgers has failed to be much more than an average fantasy quarterback. The primary culprit has been injuries. Green Bay was missing their first, second, and fourth string tackles in this game as well as Jordy Nelson, their top wide receiver. These injuries severely disrupted Green Bay's offense and prevented Rodgers from having any time in the pocket to make plays. These players should be returning sometime soon. When they do return, expect Rodgers to bounce back.

  • Aaron Rodgers Likely to Improve on Performance Against Seahawks

Aaron Rodgers got off to a pedestrian start to the season in Week 1 against Seattle. He should put in a more productive performance against a weaker defense when Green Bay travels to Atlanta in Week 2. Rodgers is arguably the top quarterback in fantasy and should be started every single week he is available. Whether Rodgers is the top option in fantasy for this week or merely an elite option is going to be decided by the health of his offensive line. Last week, starting right tackle Bryan Bulaga missed the game due to injury. Rodgers was under assault all game and his production was limited. The right tackle is important for Rodgers, as he likes to scramble outside the pocket to the right in order to open up passing lanes. He was unable to do much of that last week. If Bulaga is healthy, Rodgers should be considered the best Week 2 option at quarterback. If Bulaga misses the game then Rodgers should be considered an elite option who should be started in most circumstances.
