  • Jordy Nelson Fails to Score for First Time in 2017; Will Struggle After Injury to Aaron Rodgers

Jordy Nelson caught six passes for 60 yards in a loss to Minnesota in Week 6. It was the first game all year in which Nelson failed to catch a single touchdown. Pedestrian yardage numbers have been the norm for Nelson, but he has been an elite fantasy option based on his volume of touchdowns. Nelson is likely to struggle heavily on account of an injury to Aaron Rodgers that may keep him out for the entire season. Nelson has lost more than a couple steps over the past two years and relied heavily on his chemistry with Rodgers for fantasy production. His high touchdown rate was largely derived on his ability to find seams in the red zone while Rodgers bought time in the pocket. Hundley is not going to be able to extend plays the way Rodgers had, so Nelson's production is likely to drop. We will see what type of connection Hundley and Nelson are able to form, but the days of Nelson being an elite fantasy wide receiver may be over.

  • Jordy Nelson Taken Off Injury Report

After a week of full participation in practice, Jordy Nelson was taken off the injury report and will be ready to go for Week 6. Nelson suffered a back injury that kept him off the field for Green Bay's final drive against Dallas in Week 5. There was never really much concern that he would miss any time. Nelson is going up against a tough Minnesota defense this week. Nelson is one of fantasy's top wide receivers and should be started regardless of matchup. He should be viewed as a high-end WR1 for Week 6.

  • Jordy Nelson A Full Participant in Practice

Jordy Nelson was a full participant in practice for the second straight day. The Green Bay wide receiver is suffering from an unspecified back injury which he suffered last Sunday in Dallas. There is essentially no concern that he may miss time in the upcoming Week 6 game against Minnesota this Sunday. Minnesota has a strong defense with a talented secondary, but opposing wide receivers have managed to put up points against them so far this year. It is not an ideal match up, but you can still rely on Nelson, who is one of fantasy's elite options at wide receiver. The volume of touchdowns that Nelson has produced make him a must start every week and Week 6 is no different. Jordy Nelson should be viewed as a WR1 for Week 6 and should be started in all formats.
