Ndamukong Suh News
Free-agent defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh visited with the Miami Dolphins on Wednesday, according to the league's transaction wire. Suh had no intentions of signing with a team and going through training camp with them this summer, and he remains on the open market while potentially looking to latch on with a contending team if it's the right fit. With only three weeks left in the regular season, the 36-year-old pass-rusher may now think the time is right to join a contending team like the Dolphins for a possible trip to what would be his fourth Super Bowl in the last six seasons. The former second overall pick in 2010 by the Detroit Lions was the Defensive Rookie of the Year in and has been named to five Pro Bowls in 13 NFL campaigns. He played in eight regular season games with the Philadelphia Eagles in 2022 and recorded one sack and 10 tackles (four solo).
Free-agent defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh isn't hanging up his cleats this offseason, but he's also unlikely to sign with a new team before training camp begins this summer. "I have no desire to be in a training camp," Suh said. "I will come in and watch and look and give some advice, but when Week 1 happens, I'll be ready." The 36-year-old is entering his 14th NFL season after spending time with the Philadelphia Eagles in 2022. Suh didn't join the Eagles last year until November, so he clearly is in no rush to sign with a new organization. His best fits could be a return to the Detroit Lions, with the Seattle Seahawks or with the Baltimore Ravens. The five-time Pro Bowler and three-time All-Pro is no longer in peak form obviously, but he can still provide plenty of run-stopping support for a contending team.
The Philadelphia Eagles are signing free-agent defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh to an undisclosed one-year deal on Thursday, according to sources. The move beefs up Philly's defensive line with a top free agent. On back-to-back days, the Eagles defense has added Suh and Linval Joseph on the defensive side of the ball because of injuries to Fletcher Cox (foot), Jordan Davis (ankle) and Marlon Tuipulotu (undisclosed). The 35-year-old Suh is a five-time Pro Bowler and will add plenty of experience to an already strong Eagles defensive line. He spent the last three years with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, recording 14.5 sacks, 64 solo tackles, 23 tackles for loss, 46 QB hits, a forced fumble and five fumble recoveries (two returned for touchdowns).
