Russell Okung News
Carolina Panthers left tackle Russell Okung (groin) will play in Week 5 against the Falcons after missing the last two games. Cornerback Eli Apple has been ruled out. The return of Okung is good news for quarterback Teddy Bridgewater, who had his best game of the season in Week 4, throwing for 276 yards and two touchdowns while adding six carries for 32 yards and another score against the Cardinals. He gets an even better matchup this Sunday against an 0-4 Falcons team that is allowing the most fantasy points to signal-callers through four games. If you own Aaron Rodgers, who is on a bye this weekend, Bridgewater is the perfect streamer.
Los Angeles Chargers left tackle Russell Okung (groin) suffered a groin injury on Thursday night against the Raiders and didn't return in the second half. Okung had just recently returned from blood clots, so this is just another setback for the team's starting left tackle. If he's forced to miss additional time, it'll be bad news for an offensive line that has struggled to protect quarterback Philip Rivers consistently. The good news is that the Bolts have their bye coming up in Week 12.
Los Angeles Chargers left tackle Russell Okung (heart) said that he could return as early as Week 7 against the Titans. Currently on the Physically Unable to Perform list, Okung has yet to play this year. It's great news for a Chargers offensive line that hasn't been giving quarterback Philip Rivers much time to stay in the pocket and deliver accurate passes. It still seems unlikely that Okung returns this quickly, but it's certainly something for Rivers and the Chargers offense to look forward to.
