The Cleveland Browns and linebacker Mychal Kendricks agreed to a one-year deal worth over $3 million on Monday. Kendricks, a former Philadephia Eagle, was released last week as a salary cap casualty. Although the deal became official on Monday, the signing was first reported on Sunday but Kendricks took to social media to deny having reached an agreement with Cleveland at the time. Now officially a Brown, Kendricks is expected to step in and anchor the Cleveland defense from the middle linebacker spot. Kendricks is skilled in coverage and as a pass-rusher and should have little trouble fitting in with the Cleveland defense. Kendricks played in 15 games in 2017, logging 77 total tackles and two sacks.
Philadelphia Eagles linebacker Mychal Kendricks is recovering from ankle surgery. The surgery was referred to as a "clean-up" procedure. He's expected to be sidelined for a few weeks, but shouldn't have any trouble being ready for OTAs and mini camp. Kendricks was strong against the run game in 2017, and should continue his success in 2018. He's been mentioned in trade rumors a bit this offseason, but he'd be a solid piece regardless of where he plays.
Philadelphia Eagles linebacker Mychal Kendricks is recovering from "clean-up" ankle surgery, according to Tim McManus of ESPN. Kendricks is expected to be sidelined "for a few weeks." A huge part of trade rumors this offseason (again), Kendricks had a strong 2017 as a two-down player, becoming a force against the run.
