Josh Bellamy News
The New York Jets placed wide receivers Quincy Enunwa (neck) and Josh Bellamy on the reserve/Physically Unable to Perform list on Tuesday, meaning that both players will miss the entire 2020 season. Enunwa was a promising wideout for the Jets, but he missed the 2017 and 2019 seasons due to a serious neck injury, and his career is hanging on by a thread because of it. He averaged at least 11 yards per catch over three seasons for Gang Green. Bellamy, 31 this month, caught just two passes for 20 yards in seven games in his lone season with New York last year. Breshad Perriman and Jamison Crowder are set up to be the team's top two receivers heading into the 2020 season.
New York Jets wide receiver Josh Bellamy could see an expanded role this Sunday at the Patriots. Bellamy played only six snaps in Week 1 but upped that number to 45 snaps this past Monday against Cleveland and could be in line for more work this week with Demaryius Thomas (hamstring/knee) unlikely to play this week. Despite playing more, Bellamy only had one catch on two targets and is unlikely to make an impact, especially with the Jets starting Luke Falk at quarterback.
The New York Jets have agreed to terms with free-agent wide receiver Josh Bellamy (Bears) on Monday. The deal is expected to be for two years at $7 million max, with $2.75 million fully guaranteed at signing. The deal comes on the heels of a large add, when they agreed to terms with free-agent WR Jamison Crowder (Redskins) on a three-year, $28.5 million deal with $17 million in fully guaranteed salary. Crowder is a tremendous slot asset, and he can be a great help to fantasy owners in PPR formats when he is healthy. The former Duke standout averaged 64 grabs and 746.7 yards over his first three seasons in D.C. before being limited to just seven games in 2018 due to an ankle injury. Assuming he is healthy, he is a great get for the Jets and QB Sam Darnold.
